Duce Robinson Not Drafted . . . Yet

Duce Robinson was not selected in the first 10 rounds of the Major League Baseball Draft.

The draft goes 20 rounds so there is plenty of time for Robinson to get drafted. Every pick in Rounds 11-20 comes with a $125,000 slot value, and every dollar in excess of that counts against the bonus pool.

But if a team wants Robinson, it will take him.

  • Here is an even better picture showing USC students proudly displaying the front page of a newspaper with the score of the game in the headline. You won’t see that in the L.A. Times anymore.

This picture is becoming a real artifact: USC students celebrating the return of the Victory Bell and a newspaper with the score in the headline.

  1. Big whoop. The Oakland A’s drafted the rights to Kyler Murray and Murray is still playing football. He used the 2 sport option as leverage to get a sweet contract. #YawnZZZZZZZZ

    1. Duce Robinson isn’t as good as she thinks she is. That girl was giving the impression that she was going to be a 1st round pick…LOL!

She’ll be a bust, I already see it. She won’t recover from her feelings getting hurt, damaging her delicate sensibilities.

Pull her scholarship offer, from here on out she’s destined to be a head case after having been rejected.

        LOL!

You got your monies worth out of that socialism that paid your way through school.

  2. I was corrected, that picture of the 14-12 victory was taken in 1952
(although there was an identical score in 1969)
and the enthusiasm of the Trojans was fueled by having lost
2 in a row to the suclas, first time that had happened,
although SC was to lose 3 in a row after this victory–
sucla had good teams in the 1950s so SC celebrated any win

And Wolf, don’t forget 1999 when SC broke the 8-game sucla
winning streak and the Trojans rushed the field. So there have
been recent times when Trojans showed passion, not to mention
the remarkable Carroll years of 2002-2008. or the 2016 Rose Bowl
    or last year’s 2022 run

    1. Gotta admit the last second Rose Bowl win was awesome…. and USC was coached by a fella named Helton…

      1. Michael, I think that 2016 team (2017 Rose Bowl game) was 99% Sam and 1% ‘Ton-o-Hel’
And the 1% was when Helton got out of the way

      1. Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since Ed O was interim coach. Then Pat Haden choose Drunk Sark- what a blunder.

  3. Print media is dead. It’s OK, technology moves on. People now grab their phones and post selfies at the game after big wins. It’s pretty much the same thing.

      1. JT has been snakebit…first, he tears his ACL behind the village idiot’s deficient O-line (he probably should have sat and learned for his first year) then he transfers to Georgia, he has to sit out a few games to continue to rehab his ACL, once he recovers there, he goes on a tear at Georgia, averaging over 300 yards per game and an insane 180 QBR, then he gets injured again at Georgia, and Bennett takes over.

JT’s Georgia numbers show how important it is to have the right system (and a first-tier O line) around the QB. Hope he does well at Rice, he has been through the ringer.

      2. I was happy for J. T. when he went on that “tear”…. he has the stuff…. he just needs to show it off before the next draft….

      1. Daniels wouldn’t last a whole season at Ga. Southern, the O-line is pathetic thanks to Helton’s high-caliber recruiting

      1. I’m mean how fucked up is that? He gets hurt at USC [courtesy of Helton’s O- Line] then ALMOST makes it big at Georgia before the same thing happens……

      2. On April 13, 2022, Daniels announced his intention to transfer to West Virginia University. He was benched after starting the first 10 games in favor of Garrett Greene. On December 5, 2022, Daniels entered the transfer portal.

At WV, he passed for 2,107 yards, 13 TDs. 9 INTs, and -51 yards rushing….yes minus 51 yards. (mobility issues)

    1. If you are Northwestern and you have an outstanding coach like Pat Fitzgerald, you want to try to hang on to him. But at an academic school like NW, they probably have a bunch of educational elite scholars who want to downgrade football and upgrade queer and trans studies.

  5. Duece will become a monster on the field 6-6 with speed and ability and probably, will be WR 1 moving to the Big along with Branch making havoc. Nelson will bulk up 15-20 by next year. If not he will be injured quite fast. I’m sure they are doing that now because he needs get stronger in the lower base. Duece probably will play 1 year of baseball and see he’s not the prospect he thought he was.

      1. I was at that game, and I thought Gorman was the better team. Some tough breaks in the 4th quarter cost them the game. Branch was the most dynamic player on the field, but over their entire season, he wasn’t Gorman’s most productive receiver.

Some of his kick returns over his HS career are ridiculous. The defenders look like they are moving in slow-motion. There are some on youtube

      2. I heard on a podcast, from a source close to the team, Branch is the next Adore Jackson on special teams but better. Your 200% might be a little short(hope it’s really short). My only concern is protecting the football, part of a great returner is also protecting the football.
