You Can Go To Salute To Troy For $90

USC is selling tickets to the Salute to Troy football kickoff dinner.

It’s $90 a ticket for the public, $80 if you are a member of the Trojan Athletic Fund. There were complaints about the food last year. Let’s see if it improves.

Like I said previously, the tough part is the event is going to be on a Friday (Aug. 18) and starts at 5:30 p.m. That’s not easy if you work and are taking a family.

The good news is the players should be able to sign autographs. Last year, they were at recruiting event at the Coliseum and showed up late to the Salute to Troy on campus, which pretty much eliminated autographs.

  • USC offensive guard Jarrett Kingston and center Justin Dedich were named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which goes to the nation’s top interior lineman.
  • USC punter Eddie Czaplicki is on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award.
  • Arizona State has renamed Sun Devil Stadium. It will be called Mountain America Stadium from a 15-year naming-rights deal with Mountain America Credit Union.

Who’s going to call it anything but Sun Devil Stadium? Not me.

  4. The Pac-12 university presidents (and pretty much all university presidents) will sell naming rights to anything and everything, despite the fact that many of their faculty, departments and students are hell bent on overturning the U.S. market-based economy.
