USC Morning Buzz: Some Things Take Time To Fix

One thing going on in USC training camp is a slower-than-expected development with the offensive line.

With so many new transfers starting, it was expected to take some time for the line to gel. But sources said some of the problems the first two weeks were not necessarily related to the unit’s cohesion.

“There’s been some sloppiness, penalties, things that are going to get fixed,” a USC coach said. “It’s a slow start at times but you can work on these things now so they don’t become a problem during the season.

“Bad teams never get them fixed and they become a problem. That’ not going to happen here.”

    1. The dems ARE responding! It wasn’t lack of organizational control of state services, it wasn’t a complete breakdown of the siren system — it was Global Warming. To hear our officials talk global warming when it would have only taken a million dollars to clear all the dry brush on the entire island [and to have saved hundreds of lives and billions of dollars of property] is pretty fricking disgusting. To see Biden offer is clueless smile is even worse.

Is that the “unofficial” death count to be,
it figured it would take weeks for cadaver dogs to sift thru the debris

      5. That’s as bad as Republicans and their refusal to move on from 2020. I get it your upset but both sides need to be held responsible for poor vision and oversight. It’s not just the calamity that’s the issue, it’s the continued incompetence of political leaders without a plan and action to move on. You know why? None of the people who have suffered are registered donors to any politician in Hawaii. So they only have to act concerned instead of resigning in shame.

btw, check out the senior citizens [shown on the news & still on YouTube] waiting to be rescued in the water — holding their hands over their faces to try avoiding the smoke and dust blowing at them —they were in that water for 8 hours…. most of them died….
Little helicopter assistance …no coast guard until it was too late…and yet Honolulu is NEXT DOOR…..

      9. Just to be clear, Cowardly Gabby needs treatment for her paranoid schizophrenia condition. It is a fairly common (and can be severe) mental illness: about 0.32% of the population suffers from it. [Let’s see. There were 331 million Americans in the 2020 Census. I don’t believe they diagnose it (for sure) until one’s late teenage years, so let’s apply it to those Americans and Traitors like Cowardly Gabby 18 and over. Google says that 258 million Americans are 18 years old & older: 258 million x 0.0032 = 825,600 people adults who suffer from paranoid schizophrenia, just like Cowardly Gabby.

Hey! I re-watched Biden’s “No Comment.” The blogger who said he suspected something different was said was 100% right — if you look closely Biden was actually saying, “I am diverting the billions I’m sending to Ukraine to Maui — I can’t stomach any more American money fueling overseas wars while my people suffer!”

Almost everyone here is doing everything they can to get supplies into the burnt out areas —but it’s not easy. Doesn’t seem like the dem government is interested in assisting the effort.

  1. Not comforting words from the Trojan offensive-line coach
Coaches say it takes time for an offensive line’s 5 pieces to come together as a whole
Center, guards&tackles’ play is somewhat synchronized,
Aside from quarterback it may be the most difficult position to play

    1. They have so much talent on the 0-line —Phil Steele rates it as top 10 —if it doesn’t come together by the first game something is very wrong.

    2. They will be fine. Part of the issue is they have a defensive line and linebackers making their jobs actually hard. I suspect the entire offense has been caught off guard to the defensive pressure. If you watch any videos of the team, the defensive guys will do a drill over-unsolicited while the offensive players only do a drill once.

  3. Offensive line in is probably the biggest question with this team. We have heard that Tarquin has made major improvements since spring and Dedich is probably really solid. So is it the other two interior guys? or Monheim?

Lucky for USC, they have the first 6 games to sort this all out. It is possible that someone who transferred into USC and thought they would start is not going to start.

I think the D-line is pretty intense and the competition level is high.

It’s much like spring training in baseball where everybody is 0-0
    and full of happy optimism

  6. I believe that Riley has finally recognized the need to run the program better as a CEO and allow his coaches to run the offense in terms of installing the playbook. The back room of the coaching office should really make a significant difference. There’s is no excuse for not winning every game this season.

I have never liked Joe Biden. I have no idea why anyone would like him or his family, let alone why did President Obama honor him with a Medal of Freedom, but it doesn’t bother me because I have never been a democrat or republican and I sleep extremely well not having to protect either side or find anyone who belongs to those groups. Good day and God bless.
