The Myth Of Closed Practices

Today’s closed practice at the Coliseum did have space for Will Ferrell.

On the heels of actor Chace Crawford at last weekend’s practice.

This is why there is never such a thing as a closed practice at USC. There are always certain people who are allowed to attend.

I’m not opposed to celebrities going to practice but like I said this morning, what’s the harm if a priest from the USC Catholic Center wants to attend a practice? Being famous carries more weight, of course.

        There’s a lot of good content to choose from for the Jets here, with Dee Milliner, Sam Darnold and Vernon Gholston all making strong cases. Darnold was obviously the highest-drafted, but they subsequently got a nice little return from the Panthers for him, so it’s hard to say it’s to ding the value too hard. Sanchez, however, took a lot of draft capital to secure via trade and quite easily cost one of the best rosters in the NFL a chance at a Super Bowl.

I’m shocked that Nancy Pelosi didn’t have Trump declared an enemy combatant and disqualified for federal office under the 14th amendment when he was linked to the fake electors, through the work of his “lawyers” who told Mike Pence he could stop the Electoral College. How can anyone believe Trump is better than stupid Joe Biden when he personally participated in a coup and tried to use fake electors to replace the true electors and send those signatures to the National Archives without any court approvals. Later in the same briefing, a reporter asked the acting undersecretary of science and technology for the Department of Homeland Security, Bill Bryan, “The president mentioned the idea of cleaners, like bleach and isopropyl alcohol you mentioned. There’s no scenario that could be injected into a person, is there?”

        It was Trump who replied, “It wouldn’t be through injection. We’re talking about through almost a cleaning, sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work. But it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object.”

        It was a reporter who actually connected bleach to injections, not Trump.

The problem is right now, there is a K-shaped conflation of inflation pressure with equity market growth that has created jobs for white collar workers to plummet and disappear. Think what the long term impact of AI is doing to the economy that the Inflation Reduction Act has caused. This will impact the suburbs, substantially, because the suburb folks will find fewer employment opportunities. Lower wage and physical labor workers are still in short supply. Now with China’s massive issues with real estate and the contraction in their economy, economic growth that would find itself to this country will be impacted. The Biden administration has to find a solution to the monetary policy while finding the best tax policy that will stimulate growth without the need of capital that could re-ignite inflation and turn us into the early 1980’s economic downturn which may create another stock market collapse like in 1998 or 2008.

      Now Bizarro World thinks Trump was behind a coup but omits the fact that Trump offered Pelosi 30,000 additional national guardsman two days before the riots to defend the Capitol but she turned him down. That doesn’t sound like someone who was orchestrating a coup. The head of capitol security stated that he wanted the additional guardsman but Pelosi turned him down and that swarms of undercover Federal agents were mixed in with the crowds that day. When do we get to hear about the Federal agents infiltrating the crowd and when is Ray Epps going to testify before the house oversight committee. Perhaps most telling, if Trump orchestrated a coup or other act of sedition, why wasn’t that one of the charges brought against him by Jack Smith in the DC case.

At one point, they refused to return to work unless police were defunded and removed from campuses. Their loyalty was rewarded. Didn’t work for over a year and still got paid with their pensions replenished with Covid money. Children suffered. Test scores are down and suicide rates are up. And then the UTLA received a 30% raise once Karen Bass intervened.

  12. MG, I have never claimed Obama was perfect. He’s somewhat similar to the 19th century genius’ who said humans were never meant to fly.

    Sometimes Obama’s political distain blinded his common sense judgement; like for ex., his stated belief that absentee balloting was over-ripe, rife, for achieving illegal ballot stuffing, election wins.

    This is, with all due respect MG, a mantra load of Ratpublican BS.

    In my particular case, during Clinton’s re-election , I went to my polling place to vote, as I had for the previous 15 or so years.

    But I was shocked to learn I wasn’t registered to vote…Say f**king what?

    After some investigation, I found out that some OC, sweetheart, law abiding, AH Ratpublicans got ahold of the some voting rolls and deleted as many Demo registered voters as they could.

    Since that election MG, I have only voted via absentee ballot.

    I don’t vote early and often as it were; I just sent in my one (1) AB after completing it in the comfort and security of my home.

    Piece of cake, can of corn, safe and secure legal voting.
