Pick The San Jose State-USC Score

Game Day is here and it’s time to pick the score of the first game of the season.

Will USC cover the 30.5-point spread? Will its defense put in four quarters of domination? Will we see Miller Moss play today? Will Jen Cohen turn into Sideline Jen? Will there be a lot of empty seats at the Coliseum? Do fans really like games like this?

I’m picking USC, 48-17.

  1. Nice pick, Scottie!

    Yes on Miller Moss.

Yes on D playing hard all 4 quarters. Domination? Not sure about that, SJSU has a good QB.

Yes on “Sideline Jen” – there will be much for the newbie to “sideline” about.

Yes on “fans liking games like this”. Just go back to the days of Pete’s teams winning by 30 or more.

    1. One of those asslick Ladies of Troy fanboys, Ryan Abraham or G GRREEENS, was saying that the Ladies of Troy were going to score 60-70 points against San Jose St.

      LMFAO!

      Ladies of Troy 43

      San Jose St. 24

‘Ol Mule Shoe has to hold his boyfriend Alex Grinch’s hand running the defense, but who’s going to hold ‘Ol Mule Shoe’s hand when the Ladies of Troy play a good team?

    2. Caleb (Nail Polish) Williams pulls a Bryce Young and finishes the season out of the running for the Heisman.

She regresses, tries to do too much, forces a lot of passes which increases her interceptions to 13 for the season.

Much like the fake injury she had vs Utah in the,PAC 12 title game, she’ll have a few more of those late in the season when the losses to Washington, Oregon, Notre Dame and Utah begin to pile up.

The Ladies of Troy crap season, finishing 8 – 4 could have been avoided if ‘Ol Mule Shoe would have acted like a head coach and replaced his shit defensive coordinator and know nothing defensive staff after the humiliating loss to Tulane in the Cotton Bowl.

‘Ol Mule Shoe deperately holding onto the love of his life Alex Grinch, no matter what. The heart wants what he heart wants.

    1. 63-27. USC wants to make a big statement today, and wants to use the game to test guys out, so they will be pouring it on offensively all day. With the offense gunning to run up numbers quickly, the defense will be on the field quite alot and will give up some scores, although two of those scores will be field goals. Second string will be in the game from the mid-3rd quarter on, but will not be told to play conservatively. Caleb will be extending the field with some long passes that will help USC to move quickly down the field. Look for a very balanced attack, solid run game and passing attack all over the field, to multiple receivers.

My assumption is that USC can move the ball well with Moss in charge, if Moss flounders late in the game, then it is more like 49-24.

  2. FYI….The NCAA changed a time clock rule for the 2023 season reducing the number of plays. The number of plays is both a player safety concern, with an expanded College Football Playoff on the way next season, and a fan engagement concern, with FBS games averaging close to three hours and 30 minutes while the NFL average is three hours and 10 minutes.

The game clock will run after first downs (as it does in the NFL), except for the last two minutes of each half. Prior to the rule change, officials stopped the clock on every first down awarded. Now, they’ll only stop the clock after a first down in the final two minutes of the half.

  3. That is the only thing Wallacd’ blog has over Wolf
A betting on college football contest
where everybody starts off with 20,000 units and whoever has the most left at the end of the season is the winner

We can have our own private contest here with SC games only
I will start it off with a 5000-Unit bet on San Jose St +30.5

    1. On average, the betting spreads only impact about 25% of games when compared to simply picking the outright winner.

That means that roughly 75% of NCAAF games by simply picking the outright winner would also result in that team covering the number.

This is of course more easily said than done, but I think it can be useful when considering who to back when wagering on a game

    2. I already placed a bet, but the spread was huge and the over and under was 64 or something like that. I lost last year because I bet on the Utah game (the one the refs fixed) still I had fun.

  4. I went to place a bet on USC for the national championship and DraftKings wont allow me to bet because I am in California. Is there some other site that doesnt care about the state, or is that illegal to bet on sports if I am in Cali? I wonder if I could go through a proxy site to anonymize my internet provider.

Maybe I will just drop it. Thought it would be fun to have a little money on the line and I like the 15-1 payout. I notice it dropped from 16-1 just a few days ago.

      1. On the other hand, the NCAA record for passing yards in a game is 734 (Halliday and Mahomes). Let’s just end the Heisman conversation in Week 0.

      2. Cute —but if we get to 700 yards of offense it’s probably better if we get there via 350 yards rushing & 350 yards passing….

  5. I think the real score will be USC fans “0” and the PAC-12 Network “1” giant middle finger! Unless you’re stupid enough to shell out $61 to $84 dollars a month to get Sling TV or FUBU you are S.O.L. for watching the game.
This in a nutshell is the serious screw up of the PAC-12 – USC has the most exciting player in all of college football and the entire college football world is interested in seeing him play. So what does the PAC-12 network do? Engineer it so that 98% of the country cannot watch. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! Thank you Sir, may I please have another!!

    1. I guess you wouldn’t want the ENTIRE USC season on Pac 12 Network [like Clay Helton suggested to Yogi Roth in 2017]….

The proof that the PAC 12 undermines SC every chance they get is that next weekend the UCLA – Coastal Carolina game is on ESPN. Coastal Carolina??

  7. My prediction of the game game. 56-17. 1st team defense allows 10 pts. Caleb will go 22-29 278 4tds 0 picks. Branch will run back a kick, he will make Bush impact with 10- 11 yards per touch. Defense will have two picks and have 4 3 in outs in the first half. Moss, plays a Qtr, Nelson get his feet wet with a pass to Lemon for his 1st completed pass.

    1. Like the prediction Eric. I think the defense pressures the SJSU quarterback and causes multiple errand throws. It will be 35 to 7 at the end of the first half. A blow out.

In fact, Petersen so respected her people skills he would have her sit-in on his interviews with prospective assistant coaches and actually took her advice on hiring decisions. (Chris Arledge from On3) That is impressive.
