Notes: Colorado Might Miss Prime Part Vs. USC

Deion Sanders said he heard wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter would be out “for a few weeks” after Hunter was knocked out of the game by a late hit.

If Hunter misses the USC game, that would take some luster off the matchup. Of course, the Buffaloes have to get past Oregon in Eugene next week.

  • USC remained No. 5 in both Top 25 polls.
  • Cal trailed Idaho, 17-0, in the first half yesterday before coming back to win, 31-17. This was just a week after the Bears nearly beat Auburn. Bay Area football is something else.
  • Did Arizona State even interview anyone else before it hired Kenny Dillingham? The conventional wisdom last season was Dillingham made Bo Nix. Maybe it was Nix who made Dillingham?
  • There is some pressure on Dillingham to start calling plays for the moribund offense. He might not want to because then he is directly accountable for the woes, although he should be anyways.
  • Wait till the line comes out later today on the USC-Arizona State game. The Sun Devils are probably going to start their fourth-string QB (Jacob Conover).

  1. The current state of SC football
ASU was never considered a serious game but now is absurd
at Colorado– rabid crowd will prepare for Neuter Dame’s crowd noise
but the Buffalos have been exposed as mere ‘Donkeys’
Arizona will be the “next-up” to enter the coliseum slaughterhouse,
So 6-0 SC enters the Notre Dame cathedral where the referees don’t usually get in their way

    1. Well me lad remember what John McKay said prior to the infamous 1967 game. When the matter of ‘officials’ came up prior to that contest McKay said:

“…back there they have a game they love to play called ‘drop the hankey!'”

It was also the game where McKay refused to let the USC players out of the locker until the ‘princesses’ came out.

      1. I PLAYED IN THAT GAME! I WAS A SOPHOMORE LINBACKER AND WAS SITTING BY THE FRONT LOCKER ROOM DOOR. WHEN THE REFS CAME IN AND TOLD COACH MCKAY THAT IS WAS 5 MINUTES TO KICKOFF. MCKAY TOLD THE REFS THAT HE WAS NOT GOING OUT UNTIL THAT SOB PARSEGHIAN WENT OUT FIRST. MANY CONVERSATIONS OVER THE NEXT 10 MINUTES OCCURED UNTIL PARSEGHIAN GAVE IN AND WENT OUT FIRST… THIS WAS A RESULT OF THE 1964 GAME WHERE ND MADE MCKAY AND THE TEAM WAIT ON THE FIELD FOR 10-15 MINUTES, AND IT REALLY PISSED OFF MCKAY AND HE NEVER FORGOT..

      1. Apparently, there are a few new wrinkles to landing a reply. Not having mastered them yet, I’ve lost posts over the weekend… I figure it’s a blessing for my friends…and my enemies.

    1. Just so you know —my friend Owns made over 14 million last season betting college football. [He made an additional 17 million in Vegas at the roulette table]……

      1. Michael, the last hotel owns bought was an over-mortgaged flop house on Baltic Avenue in a Monopoly game he played with his nephew 30-some years ago. He ended up losing to the kid, and the rest is history.

      1. Nothing matters, ranking-wise, until we meet and beat Notre Dame at South Bend. Until then it doesn’t mean anything to ask whether we’re #5 or #4…..

      2. agree with MG. who really cares about rankings right now?

USC will have the best resume in the country if they can go undefeated and even one loss would be pretty epic.

      3. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if we lose a PAC 12 game during that stretch without a bye…and… get a chance for revenge against that same team in the PAC 12 Championship game….

  2. I am looking forward to the rest of this season, getting past ASU and CO so we can get all filled with anticipation for the big games to come. If we make it unscathed it will be because Grinch turned the defense around. If we don’t do well, it will be because he didn’t, and the fire Grinch cries will come out again. And they will be justified. If Riley doesn’t replace him could it be that TB is right? ❤️❤️

  3. Grinchy the baseline figures for your defense 250 total yds 3.0 pc 125 rush yds , 125 passing yds 8 TFL 6 sacks 4 TO with a 4th string QB’that shouldn’t be hard. We need to buckle down and practice good habits going forward on both sides of the ball. I want us to be working on all of our weaknesses on both sides of the ball. LR please get rid of the that plastic mat on the sidelines before someone tears an ACL.
