Here is what Caleb Williams said on his three-interception performance against Notre Dame.
“It’s my first bad game in college, I’d say. You endure, you conquer and you keep going. You don’t hang your head in the moment. Three dumb picks and you go out there lose a rival game like that, you obviously have something that your feeling from it.
“That’s one game in the past three years that I’ve had a bad game, so you don’t let that one game bring you down and cause doubt.”
It’s not how you get knocked down, it’s how you get back up and respond.

Maybe Caleb wore the wrong fingernail polish

I don’t believe it was all his fault. The major blame goes to the offensive line. You have to give this guy some protection. That O-Line looked like a bunch of clowns in that game.

Caleb’s numbers skew great when out of the pocket but are not good from in it. A lot of it is direct throws and not between levels. Opposing DCs are seeing that the USC scramble drill offense means that you just let the scramble cut off half the field and then undercut and bracket, wait for him to cross the LOS to contain and tackle.
No amount of great OL can make up for a sht offensive scheme. There’s a reason you have to have a reliable and developed running game and blocking schemes- blocking isn’t just the OL, it’s backs and TEs and design so players know where and who they are blocking.
Caleb is being done a great disservice by having a HC/OC that doesn’t develop his pocket skills when he’s got someone with such obvious great arm talent and intelligence.
All the scrambling and pass heavy offense is great to run up passing stats against and cool seat-of-your-pants highlights vs bad teams but it’s really all a fraud, and that fraud has been exposed time and time again.

Very well said.
So not only was the defense exposed again this season, but the offense was finally exposed.

Uh Caleb you weren’t great against Arizona either. Hopefully all these endorsements aren’t taking away your focus. I’m sure you’ll come back strong but you havent been anywhere near your level for 2 weeks now.

You don’t teach physicality, ND is more physical, pushing SC players all over the field on both sides of the ball, there will be more days like this, guaranteed, this is a dismal program and a conference change won’t help and this season isn’t over yet. I see more losses, as a matter of fact, I don’t see another win this year and bowl game is out of the question!
