USC Saturday Notes: Oregon Gets Better

USC has removed a statue and plaque of George Widney, one of the founders of the university, for “maintenance and cleaning” according to the Daily Trojan.

It’s probably going to be a really long cleaning because the bolts in the pedestal have been shaved off and other statues get cleaned without being removed.

In the past few years, it was reported the USC founder was part of a vigilante committee that reportedly participated in extralegal lynchings.

  • Dillon Gabiel is transferring to Oregon. Raleek Brown is also looking hard at the Ducks.
  • The USC-Long Beach State basketball game Sunday is a sell out, presumably because Bronny James is expected to play. But the Trojans’ first home game against Cal State Bakersfield was termed a sellout and there were a lot of empty seats for the game.

  7. I’m getting tired of seeing Oregon take great players who USC is going after. Sometimes I almost get the impression that they go after these guys, not because they really want them, but because they don’t want us to get them. When is SC going to fix their NIL? SC is always a day late and a dollar short.
