USC Sunday Buzz: The Heisman Ceremony Illustrates Familiar Flaw

With the Heisman Trophy ceremony last night, time to remind everyone this about Lincoln Riley: Who else has won three Heismans and never won a national championship? Or maybe even just multiple Heismans and no national title? Worse, Riley hasn’t even made the national-title game despite his three Heisman winners. But why are there only football All-American plaques adorning the exit tunnel of the building if it’s for all sports? All athletes … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

USC Aspires To Be Oregon State

What an indictment of USC that in 2 days it offered an Oregon State safety and cornerback (Akili Arnold, Jermod McCoy). Let me guess: These players are fundamentally sound, can tackle, remember assignments and . . . were coached. In other words, they are ready to go on Day 1, the only way secondary players seem to thrive in the Riley administration. Maybe D’Anton Lynn … Continue reading USC Aspires To Be Oregon State
