OK, let’s see how long it takes for new USC defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn to complete his coaching staff. Their are expectations he will get rid of at least one more assistant but remember he can also bring in other coaches as analysts. The attendance at the Holiday Bowl was 35,317. Now Petco Park has a smaller capacity than the old Qualcomm Stadium, but USC … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
Continuing our look back at Trojans who passed away in 2023, Mike Giddings was the defensive coordinator for the 1962 USC national championship team. Giddings was an assistant coach under John McKay from 1961-65. He left USC to become head coach at Utah (1966-67). He was also head coach at Monrovia High School (1957-59), Glendale College (1960) and Newport Harbor High School (1982-85). He was also one … Continue reading In Memoriam: Mike Giddings
All it took was a USC bowl victory to come up with some horrendous takes. Here are some of the worst: Lincoln Riley changed the culture of the program in the past month. It … Continue reading Some Bad Holiday Bowl Takes

Roberts, a USC fullback, is best remembered for the 1956 game vs. Texas when USC was told its African-American players could not stay at its Austin hotel. USC coach Jess Hill refused to stay there and tried three different hotels before finding one that would accept the entire … Continue reading In Memoriam: C.R. Roberts
Well, at least USC showed up and played hard. The Holiday Bowl answered one question: Miller Moss earned an opportunity to be the starting QB next season. Like I said, give me a guy who understands the traditions and importance of rivalry games over a one-year rental. Two other things going to next season: This cannot be the USC running game. USC cannot go through … Continue reading Discuss The USC-Louisville Game
And Lincoln Riley improves to 2-4 in bowl games! Based on tonight, I’d rather USC go into next season with a QB who is loyal and understands the traditions/importance of rivalries than some one-year wonder Imagine Tailback U. having a little-known QB come into the game on 4th and 1 to run the Wildcat? Where is the running game? Miller Moss bounces back from his … Continue reading USC-Louisville Live Blog
