USC Fanboys Forgot Something

Some of the fanboys promoted that Zacariah Branch was running the 60-meter dash at an indoor meet in Boston on Friday.

But when Branch finished 18th overall in the heats with a time of 6.89 seconds and didn’t qualify for the final, the response was . . . crickets. They didn’t utter a word.

They don’t consider that you need time to train when you switch to track from football. Experts like to talk about being “fast in a suit” when you have the skill to be quick, fast AND wear football pads. But track takes a different type of training.

There was nothing wrong with what Branch did. It was expected for a first race. If he stays with track through the spring, he will do better.

But the fanboys? Well, he didn’t finish in the top 3 so they pretended it didn’t happen. Big surprise.

  1. pretended it did not happen…what, as if he did not run?
That is a good time for a football player & since he did run what else is expected.
    I guess I don’t get the fan boy part…

      1. THAT is just reporting the obvious, not ‘fanboy’ ,and he was/is a sprinter with accomplishments in high school…what is ‘fanboy’ about that? like all athletes one must train at the sport to excel…he has not…that is a pretty good time for not training.

  2. ….OR…… perhaps the “fanboys” didn’t say anything because they know it’s going to take some training and time to get track shape.

      1. ..whatever NIL Duce is getting could triple if he didn’t drop one TD pass for every TD pass he caught… he could be a T.V. commercial Superstar if he got over his early game jitters….
