USC Morning Buzz: There Still Could Be Some Staff Movement

I hear USC defensive analyst Taylor Mays put out feelers to NFL teams once he was told he would not be given a full-time position coach role with the Trojans this season.

Doug Belk is the secondary coach but USC has not said whether D’Anton Lynn will also coach the safeties, which is his specialty. Lynn actually did not coach the safeties at UCLA last season and just supervised the defense. Defensive coordinators have different philosophies about also coaching a position. Alex Grinch was pretty hands on with the safeties.

Analysts are not allowed to coach on the field at practices or games, which is one reason they seek promotions. At this point, it’s probably in Mays’ best interest to seek another job even though he probably prefers to coach at his alma mater.

  • Pac-12 deputy commissioner Teresa Gould is the frontrunner to replace George Kliavkoff. Her husband is Rams assistant coach Ron Gould, who has been an assistant at Oregon, Cal and Stanford.

      blame the demise on Larry Scott. He destroyed the Pac 12. He knww that he destroyed the Pac 12 so he gave the reigns to Kliavkoff. He just followed through the with plan of destruction. I am hoping that in 5-10 years, that the Pac 12 could be reformed, but I highly doubt it.

    1. We do have a serious mental health problem in the U.S. and we see a good example of it on this blog each day. When the person can’t recognize that she needs help and (for obvious reasons) doesn’t have anyone around to get her help, the problem is not going to just go away. It’s sad and only going to get worse.

The Boston Marathon bombers used pressure cookers to kill 3 people and cause 17 people to lose a limb. They also all had motives for what they did, the authorities still have no idea why the Vegas mass shooter who killed 60, did what he did.

      People hell bent on killing others will use whatever they can to do it, guns are obviously readably available and easy to obtain, but if these mental defects want to kill, they’re going to kill using anything they can.

    I don’t know if you will agree with this, and this is my opinion, but the only way to fix the problem here in the US and the world is by asking Christ for his help and pray for a revival. It might not solve all problems but it will help alleviate a lot of them. I am parpharsing from the bible, but it says, if we acknowledge our sins and return the to the Lord, he will heal our infirmities. When we took God out of our schools, satan took his place and has caused a lot of problems. I remember going to school and the worst thing that happened was someone smoking a cigarette or chewing gum. Now you have police on campus, killings, students attacking teachers, and disrespect to the facility.

        U are correct about not forcing something on someone. However, we have to pray for change of heart in people. Hopefully they will see their ways is not correct and they change for the better. Billy Graham, Bishop Sheen, and others helped people return to Christ and the country was better at that time. I believe it is, unless the Lord wants something else from it. However, countries and empires rise and fall due to corruption. We might be too far gone to be saved as a country, however, I think if people were to pray, fast, and return to the Lord, he might spare us like he did with Nineva.

        If you have issues related to the price of groceries, write a letter to the CEOs of the grocery industry voicing your grievances regarding prices.
