Lost Weekend For USC Baseball

USC baseball lost its fourth straight game and fell to 2-9 overall with a 9-5 loss to TCU on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. Now to be fair, USC lost twice to No. 5 TCU and once to No. 7 Texas A&M.

But it was 2-6 entering the weekend.

Wide receiver Duce Robinson is hitting .200 with one hit in five at-bats.

Worse, star player Austin Overn is hitting .150 with one home run and four RBI in 11 games.

The team should be better in Year 2 but how conducive to winning is taking a bus to-and-from El Camino College for practice and Irvine for home games?

  • The USC women’s swim team finished second at the Pac-12 championships this weekend. USC wrapped up their final Pac-12 Championships with 1,291 points while Cal won the meet with 1397.5 points.

Here’s the best event, the 400-yard relay that USC won by two hundredths of a second over Stanford.

    2. More good news- The Indians lost to Colorado in men’s hoops tonight so if Cal beats Stanford and SC sweeps the Arizona schools, SC would end up tied for 8th place if UW and ASU get swept.

  2. Sad state of affairs. Season over before it starts. The
    players recruited are over rated at best and Coach Stink
    is a one season success if that.

  5. Can someone please tell me why the powers that be came up with the brilliant plan for the baseball team to practice at El Camino College and play their “home” games in Irvine and LMU, when it would’ve made much more sense to dole out $5 million and renovate the City of Commerce Veterans Ballpark and use that facility instead? Last time I checked, that facility is 12 miles from campus and is a much easier drive than the other two mentioned.
