USC Morning Buzz: One Last Own Goal By Pac-12

Shouldn’t the Pac-12 have made streaming free to everyone for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments?

It’s the last hurrah. Let the people watch.

The Pac-12 Network is televising 18 of the 22 games for the men and women. Why not let the fans actually watch it? USC plays at 12 p.m. today. If you have DirecTV, forget it.

We are past the point of the Pac-12 worrying about offending its cable providers by giving out a free week of content. It would have been a great gesture by the conference. Especially for last week’s women’s tournament.

Just tell everyone it’s a free preview from Wednesday through Friday. But nooooo. It will be business as usual.

  • USC lost to Cal Baptist, yes Cal Baptist, 3-2 on Tuesday night at Great Park in Irvine. Is this madness really sustainable? A team playing its home games 47 miles from campus? Cal Baptist had a shorter drive (33 miles). Jen Cohen needs to come up with a better solution for next season.

And let’s always remember this is a situation created by Lincoln Riley so he can have his precious football building.

  1. Something is definitely wrong with Andy Stankiewicz’s – coaching and or recruiting. Needs to be addressed asap and start with the pitching coach(es). Inexcusable 2 years in and this is the result.

    1. Try playing your games here, there and everywhere. Has the team had injuries ? Stanky is fine, it’s what he has to deal with for facilities that’s a joke. Guy probably wishes he never left Grand Canyon.

    2. Baseball relies too much on one player, the pitcher, which experts say is about 60% of the game, and why “small” schools can beat big schools, which would not happen in basketball or football

  2. Funny how baseball turned out like football, great first year, bummer of a second

And do you really believe a corporation (Pac-12 Network) is going to cut profits when p-nut butter manufacturers are giving you 10% less product at the same $

So Wiley makes demands and SC jumps. What happens when Wiles jumps?

    1. Yep, baseball and football have had mirror seasons so far, but what’s Rileys excuse ? He had the same field to play on and the first overall pick in the draft.

Would you be happier if they gave you the same amount for more money ?

What happens if Riley jumps ? We all jump for joy !

      1. Yep, give me the same p-nut butter at a higher price, at least that would be honest

And who you going to replace Wiley with,, Helton Part 2?

  3. Not having a place to practice is a major deterrent, having to drive who knows where to take BP, pitch etc is insanity.

USC didn’t need a ” football ” building, that’s why they have the McKay Center. How did PC ever manage at Heritage Hall ? This was just Bohn bending over for Riley, pathetic.

And USC knew about this for how long and couldn’t come up with a better solution ?

But hey, Chinese and Arab student enrollment is on the rise !

      1. They are using El Camino JC, sometimes they will play at LMU, most of the local high school fields are a mess, the inner city isn’t a baseball hotbed. You would think that they could have worked out something with Cal St LA, CS Dominguez Hills, Harbour JC, PCC, anything would have been better than Irvine, but if nothing close was available you go to Irvine, or you tell Riley to fuck off.
