What to say about Bronny James?
He was an unselfish teammate and blended into the squad nicely this season without any drama. He’s the type of role player any coach would like on the roster.
But are those the attributes of someone who will get drafted? If smart, he will transfer to another school.
Now that he is gone, what about the shameless self-promotion USC did once James enrolled, patting itself on the back for an increase in social media followers . . . on social media, of course. To what end? Was it all really worth it?
The thing I didn’t like was James did not answer a single question during the season. At the Pac-12 Tournament, players are required to stay in the locker room after the game and answer questions from the media. But James didn’t.
He was old enough to speak in a TV commercial during the NCAA Tournament but not actually speak to the media during the season (please don’t mention the brief “statement” he read after his first game). This was not USC’s doing, of course, but was all the jumping through hoops worth it?
USC did get increased TV exposure from having James on the roster. But Andy Enfield bottled that with the product he subjected the nation and USC fans to this season.
James would be well served to play for a real coach next season in college. Whether he does remains to be seen.
- Did you know Eric Musselman’s wife, Danyelle Sargent, worked for ESPN and Fox Sports?
Here’s an anecdote from her Wikipedia bio.
“On Sunday, October 26, 2008 (while) working as a sideline reporter, Sargent was conducting a taped, pre-game interview with the new head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Mike Singletary, and said, “I heard that your mentor, Bill Walsh, was one of the first phone calls that you made when you found out that you had the job. What does it mean to you to be the head coach of the 49ers?
“The interview was abruptly halted when the reporter was informed by her producers that Walsh had died on July 30, 2007.”
- Look at the support South Carolina women’s basketball gets just leaving to go to the arena before its Final Four game. The SEC is different.

I always love to see the girls see the support in this type of setting. pic.twitter.com/bM9Ebg7HAA
Neutral commentary by Wolf re ‘Brawnie, and the South Carolina women are deserving of all the attention because this team might be the greatest of all time

Bronny is indeed a very good team player, wish he would be with USC in the future, but he was always going to be a 1-year rental. The Lakers will make a lot of money with him paired with his dad. But with season stats of 4.8 ppg, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, with 36.7% shooting, who else would he play for?

He should play for the South Carolina women’s team:

To MG re Jon Arnett– did you know that the Trojan great was a gymnast in high school which helped with his balance and elusiveness on the football field, and also was a long jumper who took 2nd in the 1954 NCAAs helping to propel SC to the national championship?

The send off given to the South Carolina women team was indeed impressive. It is clear that the students and community are behind the team and the team undoubtedly benefits from the energy of their fanbase. Jen Cohen cited the need for new energy and excitement surrounding the USC men team as a reason for hiring Musselman. He built a winner at Arkansas with three final four finishes in a row until this past year and the fanbase was energized by his teams.
So what does the inside USC writer say about Bronny and the USC program immediately after this new hire that suppose to energize the team. That Bronny is a good role player that will strengthen any college roster and that he should transfer to another college where he will be properly coached. What’s wrong with Musselman coaching him Scott! The guy has developed players and sent them to the NBA. How about getting behind the local team and at least give the new hire a chance.

I TOO LIKE OUR NEW COACH. HE IS A PROVEN WINNER LETS SEE WHAT HE CAN DO IN A COUPLE YEARS. THE GUY IS A FIGHTER JUST LIKE THE DOGGIE GEORGE TIREBITER WHO WOULD HAVE HAD THAT NAVY GOAT FOR LUNCH AS MG POINTED OUT !!

Doggie Tirebiter always marked his territory upon entering the Colosseum. This Navy Goat didn’t respect the territory so Doggie Tirebiter had to set him straight. Rumor has it that the human Tirebiter is still marking his territory and setting people straight.
