USC Notes: Not Getting Drafted Can Still Work Out

It was probably a disappointment for cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace when he was not drafted by an NFL team.

But sometimes it still works out. Roland-Wallace got a guaranteed $150,000 deal from the Kansas City Chiefs. That means even if he gets cut, he still gets the money. But if the Chiefs were willing to guarantee $150,000, they probably have plans to keep him.

  • Xavier guard Desmond Claude has committed to USC. Claude, who is 6-foot-6, won the Most Improved Player award in the Big East after averaging 16.6 points and 3.2 assists last season. He is the ninth transfer and 11th newcomer on the USC roster. The Trojans still need a point guard.

  1. Way to go Roland-Wallace; he was one of SC’s best and look how hard it was for him to get any NFL money at all

And Muzzle keeps bringing in livestock who on paper look good but we’ll see if that translates to the basketball floor

  2. The word is that a good NT in the transfer portal has a market value of $500,000 to $800,000 per year and perhaps more. Apparently, Williams and Harmon are both asking for over one million per year. If that is the case, some of these players may be taking a pay cut even if they make an NFL roster. Don’t know how the colleges are going to be able to sustain these kinds of salaries in the long term. As soon as you give Harmon one million, Bear Alexander is going to want one million.

  3. not every coach runs a point guard offense, but if he needs one he can develop someone or still find one…I think he still needs a dominant xtra big, like football needs a middle guard, not just another defensive tackle.

    1. Each grad gets 6 tickets. They figured it was easier to secure the Coliseum than the entire campus. But Protest sympathizers are sure to get some tickets to their buddies, so they can disrupt the ceremony!

Stay tuned and get the popcorn ready!
