Lincoln Riley Paid Nearly $10 Million In 2022

USC paid Lincoln Riley almost $10 million in his first year at USC, according to USA Today.

The university also spent about $9.6 million related to Riley’s buyout and taxes.

USC paid Alex Grinch nearly $2 million in base salary and had more than $2.3 million in “other reportable compensation,” including a $1.08 million buyout.

USC also paid Clay Helton nearly $4 million in severance in 2022, which means it spent about $28 million on three coaches that year.

  1. I bet Riley was paid more than 10 million. That was his contractual salary. But I suspect they paid for other benefits such as moving expenses and a low cost mortgage through the USC credit union. I wonder if they pay for a driver, a car, a security detail, and many other expenses.

    Not much of a story here. A college coach is paid a lot of money.

  3. The USC administration continues to look like a fool with Lincoln Riley leading their program now that the LA Times exposed them. So far Riley has proven to be OVERRATED, and a horrible recruiter at the high school level. Look what Kalen DeBoer did for Washington in almost the same time frame as Riley, and at a fraction of the cost. The Big Ten Conference will get their chance to expose Riley too, so the Trojans fanboys should start getting their excuses in order before the season starts.
