USC heavily recruited wide receiver Nyck Harbor, who instead went to South Carolina.
Over the weekend, qualified for the NCAA championships in 100 an 200 meters. He ran the 100 in 10.11 and the 200 in 20.20.
Why am I mentioning it? Because Harbor weighs 242 pounds.
And he’s already spent a year playing college football, which means he has gone through weight training.
It’s quite an accomplishment for someone his size to put up those marks. Harbor was a five-star recruit a year ago but it would have been normal to see him focus more on football or simply not excel as much in track.
But he is defying conventional wisdom at 242 pounds.
Why the commotion, the guy is going to play for SC, oh it’s the other SC

Scooter,
The kid reminds me of herschel walker or bo jackson. The only one that might be that size and run for SC was Ricky Bell.

Reminded me of Hershel Walker too. Walker is thicker. He doesn’t seem to move with a lot of shiftiness. Zachariah Branch would seem to be much harder to cover. This guy is big and fast but seems far from a polished receiver. He was a 5 star. Wonder why he transferred.

Bob Hayes is another fast guy who made it in the NFL; don’t recall HerSChel Walker so well but Bo Jackson might have been the fastest and best NFLer

just a quick look at the best ‘yards per carry’ in the NFL only 3 averaged 5 yards or more, that being Barry Sanders, Jim Brown and the leader at 5.4 (short career however) was Bo Jackson

I think if Harbor was class of 24 or 25 this USC would have snagged him.

Barry Sanders said that second place Rodney Peete should have won the Heisman in 1988, and Ricky Bell and Anthony Davis also came in 2nd place. Too bad SC couldn’t hang their jerseys with their Heisman winners
