USC Morning Buzz: Viral Shot At Lincoln Riley

Did you hear Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione’s viral comment yesterday about the Sooners’ move to the SEC?

“Every coach that we talked to was excited,” he said. “And you know what, the ones that weren’t aren’t here anymore.”

Every one took that as a reference to Lincoln Riley. No surprise. Since the day he left Oklahoma, I’ve said Riley did not want to compete in the SEC.

It didn’t help his cause that he tried to get USC out of playing LSU in the season-opener in September.

And he wasn’t thrilled with the move to the Big Ten either, but he didn’t have a choice.

  1. This Lincoln is afraid of the SEC and BIG stuff in all speculation from sources that favor the SEC and loath Riley and USC. Don’t put any stock in it.

  2. No other president has ever asked for immunity, not even Nixon, it just shows how guilty trump is and how he is trying to avoid life behind bars.

    1. Great name. fits perfectly. No president, even with this immunity can do something illegal. Period. No matter who he is or what party he is from. Make sure you know what the fack you are talking about before you make a complete fool of yourself.

  3. Since Wiley never said he was afraid of the SEC or Big-10 then it is all speculation as to what was going on in Wiles’ mind

  4. I recall Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione – backing out of a home/away series versus USC back in 2004 or 2006.

Aside from the dollars being waved (which is VERY significant) a number of these guys are as a number of us are – rather stay where they feel most comfortable. I.e. Earl Campbell’s love for his college days at TX thus HOU for his career
