If USC Wants To Solve NLI Issue, Here’s One Way

There is a drumbeat of comments from some USC fans about NIL every time a recruit commits elsewhere.

I already said the athletic dept. has a major challenge because USC fans do not donate like rabid SEC fans. This is just a fact.

But here is the other thing: If NIL is so important, why doesn’t USC focus its money on that instead of trying to raise millions for Lincoln Riley’s unnecessary pet project football building?

USC needs players more than another football building.

So put the money there. But no, USC has to cater to the ego of its $10 million a year coach.

      1. MG watching Gox discuss the short clips ABC released of Joe Biden’s interview. The five ( 4 guests plus hostess) all believe Biden stays because the demoncrat can’t dump Kamila w.om losing thd black vote ‘but’ were Joe to quit Harris can’t win.

      2. What’s funny about that Don, is that a vote for Joe IS a vote for Kamala because he is never going to last another year. But people who were stupid enough to vote for dementia in 2020 don’t think that far ahead.

      3. You are so wrong, So Cal! There was no way for voters to know Joe was so mentally frail…or that voting for him was a vote for Kamala [who’s just a puppet for the Obama Team]! Watching him hide in his basement with a covid mask on, or witnessing him refuse Super Bowl interviews ….or walk into walls while laughing to himself…… this wasn’t sufficient evidence of a cognitive problem! It could mean anything!

  2.  So if Joe Biden declared today that November’s election is canceled and ordered the military to keep him in power, would that be an ‘official act?

    1. Every military officer and enlisted man is told on day one that you don’t follow illegal orders. Ordering the military “to keep me in power” is an illegal order. Canceling an election is also outside the authority of the President and need not be followed. It is also an impeachable offense. That is the remedy. No need to arrest your political opponent.

      2. Presidents […or their braindead family members….or their community college interns] shouldn’t conspire with DOJ to imprison the President’s political opponents.

I hope Trump doesn’t follow Biden’s bad example when he enters office in January 2025 [well, now that I think about it, I hope he limits himself to just ONE sacrificial lamb ….. someone without a following….. someone no one will stand up for….. someone no one cares about…..maybe A. G. Garland]…..

  3. Yesterday Wolf wrote that SC has plenty of money but that the alumni is stingy, so why does SC need the alums’ dough if it has plenty.

And I don’t know, maybe the existing football facility is below par and is a turn-off for recruits

  4. I think they should just concentrate on athletes that want to be at USC,and that the coaches believe they can develop into team players, football is a team sport. They can go after others also, I would never get in a bidding wart for some high school kid, save iot for proven ones like in the portal if need be.

    1. Tim: Riley made the same point in an interview about four months ago. He talked about how the players who truly see the value of the university tend to be the ones that “buy in” to the football cultural and stick around throughout their four year tenure while those who place their decision making almost solely on the money will leave for the transfer portal if they don’t start immediately or are disciplined for failing to met the academic or training standards of the team.

  9. Cannot imagine what it is like for college football recruiters courting these ‘full-of-it’ teenagers, and since most don’t care much about the educational-angle, they’re there to play football period, so work the system for every ‘NIL-or-advances’ you can get away with

  10. YUCLA was always envious of SC because they figured Troy illegally “bought” its players. Now the Trojans are envious of the ‘Webfoots’ as they do the same thing, only legally now

It is relevant to America, other than that the U.S. is funding all of Israel’s wars, because according to some Iran aleady has 6 atomic bombs which pails to Israel’s purported 400, but atomic warfare in the Middle East and we will not live on earth quite the same way

    1. “81M” (supposedly) asked for this when they were stupid enough to opt for dementia, incompetence & weakness, John. Of course the bad guys of the world were going take advantage of it! Peace Through Weakness was never a viable option.

But the idiots like to deny all the blood that is on their hands and pretend everything would have played out exactly the same way. All of it (Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Gaza and maybe more) happening on Biden’s watch is not a coincidence. Only a fool would try to claim it is.
