Does Lincoln Riley Want Pete Carroll Around?

Lincoln Riley said today that that he would “love to have (Pete Carroll)” around the program.

“Coach has been great to me,” Riley said. “He’s been a great resource and a great person to be able to pick his brain. I’m excited he’s going to be here more, and we’d be crazy not to take advantage of having him around.”

But I highly doubt Riley wants Carroll around practices.

Why? Carroll’s son, Brennan, is an assistant coach at Washington. The Huskies’ coach, Jedd the Fisch, is a former Carroll assistant and never hesitates to suck up to Carroll.

You can bet those two would pump Pete Carroll for information if they thought he was hanging around the USC football program.

And if you throw in Riley’s natural paranoia, it makes it even more awkward.

So let’s see how this new situation develops.

    1. Carrot used to attract recruits to SC based on his unique personality and how he built the Trojans into a contender every year. But times change and today he would strikeout with most kids because SC doesn’t pay as well as some other schools

Wiley might be more concerned with ‘his’ kids taking to Carrot more than to Wiles. although Carrot feeding SC football propriety information to Washington wouldn’t make Wiles’ list of concerns

    1. This is the first we’ve heard from Uncle Rico since the mens basketball team imploded against Arizona and Enfield left.

      Thanks, Enfield!

    1. No; the problem was that he grew up in churches that allowed female pastor, Ken, with way to much Laodicean lukewarm false doctrine.

  1. PC will be coach at USC again like Robo 2 back in the 90s if Riley falters this year.

Riles team underperforminng at 6 and 6 or worse and he will leave.

  2. Wolf is worried, Ceasar is back. I am sure PC would never want to take on a head coach college football job again with the mess going on right now.
