I spoke to an NFL scout who has watched LSU to get an idea of the strengths and weaknesses.
“Their quarterback is special. They have some new receivers that are really talented. They have one of the best offensive lines in the country. The best left tackle in the country.
“They are weak in the secondary. I think Miller Moss could give them problems. It may turn into a scorefest.”
This backs up the idea that the line of scrimmage will be vital. USC’s defensive line will have a huge challenge. It also remains to be seen how USC’s offensive line will stack up against the defensive line of LSU.
The hope — from a USC point of view — is probably that the Trojans’ offense will make big plays to overcome any disadvantages.
Also, can LSU’s offensive line handle a USC team that gained 1,400 pounds in the offseason?
Not every one of those 1400 gained pounds is on the defensive side, some are on the offensive side as well

After years of field work, coupled with many hours of deep, critical thinking at the Lost Marbles Pub, I’ve come to the irrefutable conclusion that unless you are drunk, political parties—like most parties, are best experienced by arriving late and leaving early. How about discussing Trojan football here for a change?

Speaking of football, Harris is the biggest fraud to ever run for office. I take USC by 20 points.

Scooter,
Taking from what you are saying, that SC’s deline is not battle ready or are gong up against the best that they will see all season, then the Defensive cordinator will have to come up with different schemes on defense to slow down lswho’s o line. He will have to run stunts, blitzes, lbers going inside and deline taking the edge, mix in a safety or corner blitz as well. Change the coverage going from man to man, to zone to 2 man deep, 3 man deep, lbers playing db and db’s playing lber. The dline might have to double team the left tackle with either a dend and tackle or a lber and a tackle/dend. That can slow down the blocking scheme for lswho.

why in the phuck would you “double team” an offensive tackle?
PT proves once again he knows nothing about football……sad little old man

PT: LSU’s tackles are very good but their center has never started a game. I think USC will put Bear Alexander on the guard and center and hope that he can dominate with a consistent push into the backfield. If that occurs, it will limit LSU’s running attack and may also collapse the pocket. USC will probably need to win the turnover war to win this game and LSU’s quarterback is talented but not experienced.

Plow,
they will have to run stunts on the tackles as well, but SC dline has to push back lsu’s oline consistently. If they can get 6-8 tackles for losses, that changes the field. Gotta get sacks and gotta put SC’s will on them and hake up the qb

A small percentage of American men have ever really played tackle football because few possess the ‘viciousness the game requires

There are basically 2 types of linemen– either blocking for the quarterback or trying to ‘knock his block off’

We can all thank Cowardly Gabby for the blog censorship. Everything the guy touches, he manages to ruin. He is not even capable of having a relationship with people on a blog. Really very sad. A lonely and disturbed old man.

Everything she hurls in someone else’s direction is something of which she is guilty. That being the case, you know when she hurls the one about “family staying away”, it’s true in her case and we can all see why.
