USC-LSU Live Blog

LSU finally is able to run the ball and it leads to a TD. It’s 17-13.

Horrible clock management by Lincoln Riley in final minute. He lets a lot time pass before calling a timeout because he thought USC had a first down (it didn’t). That forces a field goal later, which USC missed.

Has Bear Alexander played?

Woody Marks gives USC a 7-0 lead on 2-yard run.

Kyron Hudson was a great one-handed catch.

  • The first quarter is already over. It’s 0-0.

USC looks better on the run defense. Soft on pass defense.

  • USC shows some initial success passing but then LSU blitzes on third-and-short and the Trojans punt.

LSU is making USC’s pass defense look soft but the Trojans do stop the Tigers at the 3-yard line.

  • This is unbelievable.

  • As usual, we will be live blogging the game.

I’m think USC is completely unpredictable. The Trojans could come out and look great today. Or they could be inconsistent.

That said, I’m taking LSU, 31-24.

I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  2. The common denominator here is posters are all proving Cowardly Gabby knows nothing about any subject. And once she is humiliated she threatens them with physical violence.

Why did you have to come back, Cowardly Gabby?

Go away you ugly, mean, psychotic troll!

  3. Watching the camera panning the fans it looks like USC faithful more than showed up….kudos for them.

USC victorious or maybe not but I sense the former and regardless the team will be far more battle tested than any of the other opponents faces esp ‘the princess’.

  4. LSU offense looks a lot like the Irish. QB throws a lot of junk.

DBs should be more aggressive and closer to LOS.

If this was a Grinch defense, LSU probably up by 21.

    1. Are you serious? This was the best game of the weekend. As Herbstreir said LSU will be prepared because thry nearly pulled this out same would have been for USC. Noth squads have a tough schedule ahead of them both….not ‘the princess’ ….. defeat MI 3 weeks hence and full speed ahead

  5. Wow!! Wowww! Not perfect yet, but still beautiful!! The D line is looking great. The D Backs look much better. A couple of slip ups, but consistently strong play. Nobody should worry about Miller Moss. He did miss some open receivers, but the film is going to help him make quicker reads and scan the field better. Extremely loud stadium, that caused us to burn a couple of time outs. The two minute drill at the end was textbook. I loved the look on Coach Kelly’s face when we went zip zip zip down the field to take the lead. I think he knew then that he didn’t have an answer to our offense. And of course, the look on Coach Kelly’s face at the end was priceless!!

    1. I concur but I came away with some grudging respect for Brian Kelly. In the past he has shown bad sideline behavior towards staff and officials… he didn’t tonight. I think he’s finally maturing and he’ll be better served by that. LSU is going to have a good year and still may get into the expanded playoffs as I certainly hope USC does…..frankly save for GA, the Irish and Miami none of the rest played any really tough opponents. OR and MI are in trouble with those home wins.

LSU Wil contend and now all know MikeBohn made a great hire in landing Lincoln Riley just as Riley did in hiring D’anton Lynn as DC.

    1. No, USC was a 4.5 point underdog. Just like any true Trojan no doubt he’s happy with the outcome of the game. I for one appreciate his honest criticism. FIGHT ON!

  6. The defensive backs have to tighten up the coverage, and the running game is still not quite there, but I bet Michigan is suddenly worried about the Trojans
