A Huge But Overlooked Part Of Win Over LSU

It’s not getting a lot of discussion but USC’s offensive linemen made a huge impact in the LSU game.

They recovered two USC fumbles. The first was when Miller Moss fumbled at the LSU 20-yard line in the second quarter and Emmanuel Pregnon recovered. USC ended up with a field goal.

The second was even bigger. Woody Marks fumbled on a botched trick play handoff and Elijah Paige recovered at the USC 12-yard line. Imagine if LSU took over at the 12 with a 17-13 lead?

  • Reggie Bush is part of the 2024 Hall of Fame class with Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and Oregon tailback LaMichael James.

Everyone is falling over themselves right now to honor Bush.

But what do you remember about the Rose Bowls he played in? He fumbled a lateral to Brad Walker and wasn’t on the field for fourth-and-1 in the 2006 Rose Bowl against Texas. Those are the lasting memories.

He was USC’s second-leading rusher in that game with 82 yards and caught six passes for 95 yards.

In the 2004 Rose Bowl, he gained 41 yards against Michigan and had 42 yards receiving.

Should he be in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame?

      2. It’s about the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. You don’t have to be a Heisman Trophy winner to be inducted. LenDale should be inducted with Reggie.

      I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  8. McCree’s pancake block, Gentry’s tackle behind the los, the play of Braylen Shelby. Those were some memorable moments. Not seen by a USC fan for long time. And don’t get me started on #6 at DE. Incredible how he has come alive
