Lincon Riley Plays Expectations Game

A lot of USC fans have expressed confidence in beating Michigan since the Wolverines lost to Texas, 31-12, last weekend.

But don’t count Lincoln Riley in that group.

Riley said Thursday morning that the game “was quite a bit closer than the scoreboard indicated.”

So he’s trying to lower expectations ahead of the trip to Ann Arbor.

One question for Michigan is whether Jack Tuttle, who was recruited by USC in high school, will play at quarterback.

    1. Michigan has a terrible offense. Doubtful that they score 27 points. LSU only scored 20 on us and they are much better than Michigan.

      1. Michigan has a better defense than LSU….. in particular, a better d-line….

  1. To hold the SC defense to a 20-point LSU standard is unrealistic. But for the unlikely SC recovery of a Moss fumble the Trojans would have fallen behind by 2 scores and it becomes a different ballgame

    1. Maybe LJ. But LSU had a really good quarterback and offensive line. Michigan does not. I wonder what the over/under will be. My guess – mid forties.

  2. Michigan lacks continuity on offense to be considered as good as Utah State on offense. The staff that Harbaugh took with him made it more difficult for Moore to reestablish the identity and Wink Martindale is having a huge issue with learning the college game AND prepare the team for the Texas or USC offenses without proper prep time.

I expect no more than 10 points from Michigan’s offense.

USC should be able to score 20 or more points on Michigan with the length they have.
