USC Notes: Caleb Williams Sets Record Straight

Last week, USC announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Cookies, a cannabis and wellness company based in California.

What is interesting is there are other entities on campus that have rejected deals with cannibis businesses because it is still considered a schedule one drug and illegal at the federal level.

They were worried it could affect USC’s government research and financial-aid funding.

Obviously, the athletic dept. had no such fears.

    BTW, if you saw the Bears last night, it was painful to watch Caleb hold the ball for what seemed an eternity. The Bears O-line isn’t good, but even the best line can only hold off the Mongol hordes for so long.

  4. Michigan is changing QB’s and starting their talented dual threat junior. Running QB’s always present a wrinkle to the defense. We’ve got to seal the outside so we don’t give them unlimited yardage on the edge. Whether we use a spy on him or zone blitz, our DB’s are going to have to be able to survive without a lot of help. They are still going to have to come up quickly and make tackles because they are going to be pickled between supporting against the run and dropping to their man / zone scheme. I can’t put into words how much I wish I could buckle up a helmet and get out there to play! Especially since my arthritis has been mild lately

      1. Unfortunately, the real Marv Goux has to be with us in our hearts. I hope that I pay tribute to him as he was a fine man and a great coach. I hope nobody takes offense but by invoking the beloved memories of him that it will inspire others to celebrate the legends and lore of Trojan football. I also hope that it will help steer the conversation back to football

      You honor Coach Goux by knowing your football. Another Def. cordinator that i admired was Don Lindsey. Man, was he good. Coach Goux would be in hog heaven with this schedule. You have LSU, Michigan, Penn St. nebraska, the little gutty ruins, and his all time favorite at home, the Pagan Catholics of Notre Dame. That is like eating lobster, fliet mignon, prime rib, crab, and shrimp, and gumbo every Saturday. Please continue to write. Thank you.

  5. I was amazed HOU didn’t put a knife into CHI at the very beginning of the 2nd half. Williams is going to be stalked by the 4th estate as this season progresses esp if last night is a preview of his ability going forward.

    CHI faces: @ Colts, Rams, Panthers, @ Commanders and then on the 3rd November @ Cardinals. From 3rd November thru the end they have a very tough road.

  8. Wake Forest just cancelled their 2025 game with Ole Miss. The SEC requires one non-conference game with a Power 4 school. Most have their schedules set. Any chance the USC game is back on by necessity? Has USC replaced Ole Miss yet?

        I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  13. Mich had some returners on defense so expect it to be fairly stout although obviously not 2023 vintage, whereas its offense may be fortunate to get 20 points, 2 tds and 2 field goals might be a good day’s work for a first time quarterback
