USC Special Teams Need Benny Hill Theme

I know I sound like a broken record that USC should hire a real special teams coach.

But here’s some great facts about the USC-Michigan game.

  • USC had 11 men on the field for only one Michigan extra point.
  • USC had 10 men on the field for two Michigan extra points.
  • USC had 12 men on the field for one Michigan extra point.

Is John Baxter secretly coaching at USC again? Cue the Benny Hill music.

  • Lincoln Riley lectured the media that “there’s no story there” when asked about Bear Alexander playing only 21 snaps against Michigan.

But when it was pointed out that Alexander and his guardian were both critical of his diminished role on social media, Riley said, ““I can’t control what parents or anybody else says. I can control what’s happening in these walls, and I’m perfectly comfortable with where it is.”

      1. You clueless freak……you obviously have no idea how playing field position through an entire game is relevant in winning, or what the term “flipping the field” means……stop talking about football……you’re worse than blog dunce

BAAAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! ………that mushroom popped right out your butt—-hole……………..OUCH!

      2. Low Football IQ Cowardly Gabby left out the detail that Michigan returned two of the punts for 19 and 12 yards. Special teams failed!

  2. to Scott’s credit he has mentioned great punting in the past. That is also not the result of great scheming and development. It’s mostly personal ability and effort. He’s an aussi so he’s got that going for him.

    1. but it reflects on the overall special teams play…….. it takes an entire unit to get the punts off successfully……nice try…..where is your football IQ?

      1. you are correct that punting takes a team. A couple of punts were nearly blocked. The position is fairly talent and technique driven. Including the great punting special teams are below average. To answer your second question. You are correct, I don’t have enough football IQ I could always use more. Can always be learning. I have 8 years of fairly high level playing experience. And also 35 years of high school and college coaching experience. I can always use more though. Also helped prep Polamalu for the draft. Back in the day when his head was shaved.

      3. sorry, my mistake for the incomplete grammar. I meant to say despite the great punting (just one of many aspects of special teams) special teams is still below average for a d1 power 4 university. And it has been for at least the last 6 years. Special teams is truly 1/3 of the game, due to the volatility of the plays, field position and momentum. And by the way, I don’t drink and never have. As an athlete I never felt the need to and after I really didn’t have the time. Just too much important things to focus on.

      4. Vault, you don’t have to apologize to Cowardly Gabby, the Board Doxxer who impersonates good posters here like SoCal and Michael Guarino. She only knows panhandling on the streets of LA’s Skid Row.

  3. Helton and Riley consider special teams to be a waste of a coach, hiring a special teams coach would mean not having TWO wide receivers coaches, can’t have that.

      1. You don’t return a kick 4 yards into the in-zone with less than 40 seconds on the clock and no timeouts, total dumb–a s s. Stick to obsessing over Gabby, your football IQ is pathetic…..

      2. Low IQ Cowardly Gabby knows zero about USC tradition and college football or she would know USC is the school of Anthony Davis, who took kicks 5 yards in the end zone and returned them for touchdowns.

      3. Low IQ fake Gabby, aka Scott wolf, knows zero about football or she would know you don’t return kicks 5 yards into the end zone. Even a guy with a very limited football IQ should understand this

This type of play will land your a s s on the bench.

The blog is laughing at you…..dumb—-a s s.

        BAAAAAAMMMMM……CROTCH……..KICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      4. You obviously never watched the USC 55-24 victory over Notre Dame when Anthony Davis returned kick offs 5 yards into the end zone for TDs. Apparently Cowardly Gabby the bag lady on LA’s Skid Row knows more about football than Hall of Famers John McKay and Anthony Davis!

      5. And Jon Arnett was before my time but I sure know what he did for USC. You should go to Bruin Report Online and have fellowship with fellow UCLA Fans, Cowardly Gabby aka Charlie Bucket.

      1. The freak is sooooooo beaten down that he’s now been reduced to mocking the spelling of a word, sad little hunchback.

Go back and read he’s football comments, it’s obvious his football IQ is in the weeds. He claims Branch should have returned a kick that was 5 yards deep into the end zone. I am still laughing my off over the comment. He thinks this is still 1974 when Anthony Davis played football

Real Gabby lives between his ears and appreciates the free rent. He wakes up every morning with his first post blowing Real Gabby a kiss…….FREAK!
