USC Notes: Time For Youth Movement?

For all intents and purposes, the season’s gone in terms of real goals.

So why not let Jayden Maiava play some and start using more of the freshmen. It’s likely for the younger defensive linemen, given that Anthony Lucas is out for the season.

But the schedule is supposed to be easier the rest of the way and you might as well get people experience for next season. Let guys like Devan Thompkins, Sam Greene and Kameryn Fountain play more on the defensive line.

Lord Riley isn’t having it, however, at quarterback.

“Jayden’s done a really good job,” Riley said. “But Miller’s our starter. Miller’s played a lot of really good ball.”

  • Joel Klatt has literally discussed USC three different times this week and it’s only Wednesday. Twice on his podcast and once on the Colin Cowherd show.

Did I miss USC being a top 5 team? Are they that compelling?

USC is an obsession with Fox Sports. It feels like Tim Tessalone picks the topics.

Don’t forget Fox used to have two former USC players as part of its four-man panel of pundits for its Big Noon pre-game show.
