USC Notes: Does Another Program Require Two General Managers?

Is Lincoln Riley the only coach in the nation that requires two general managers?

USC is going to retain Dave Emerick as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Football/General Manager and also hire a “wartime consigliere” general manager.

I’ve gotten contacted by several people on campus who are noting USC is paying two people for one position while also instituting university-wide cutbacks.

When Sir Lincoln of Riley was hired, it was assumed he was enough of a genius to handle the decision-making within the program or at least not require two general managers.

  • The USC campus is largely unimpacted from the fires and open. However, the New Student Convocation will not be held on Friday.
