Good Thing USC Didn’t Get Will Howard

Ohio State QB Will Howard completed 14 of 15 passes for 144 yards and 2 TD’s in the first half of tonight’s national title game.

Remember Lincoln Riley claimed he backed off taking Howard after watching Miller Moss in the Holiday Bowl.

“After the bowl game, we backed off on an older quarterback transfer target,” Riley said.

Riley really is a QB guru.

I’m sure Howard is happy too as Ohio State is routing Notre Dame at this writing.

  1. It is not about Howard although he has played really well. The entire Buckeye roster is talented. Receivers, running backs, lineman, linebackers, defensive backs – all of them look superior to other teams. Welcome to the world of NIL – the end of parity.

  2. Why is this ‘legacy’ favorite of the east granted a ‘bye’ at end of season when 133 of 136 FBS programs are in contention for a conference championship game? How is this any different than giving the DET Lions or JAC Jags or the SEA Seahawks given a 1st round bye when seedings are announced for playoffs?

If Notre Dame wins 10 games they’re automatically ranked for the playoffs but there’s never any risk of then dropping due to the results of CCG only rising while other programs are directly eliminated from the playoff.

This is the annual con job no one ever raises – 36 years and counting
