Taylor Mays Joins Jeff Bregel, Mark Carrier On College Football Hall Of Fame Ballot

The latest ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame includes former USC players Jeff Bregel, Mark Carrier and Taylor Mays.

Bregel and Carrier have been on previous ballots while Mays is a newcomer.

Carrier is the obvious choice among the trio because he was a Thorpe Award winner and led the Pac-10 with seven interceptions in 1989. By comparison, Mays had five interceptions in his entire career. Bregel won the Morris Trophy as the Pac-10’s outstanding offensive lineman in 1985.

Here is the full College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

    1. The selection committee must have missed this news item: Dec 26, 1986 “Earlier this week, the NCAA declared Jeff Bregel, USC’s two-time All American offensive guard, ineligible for the Citrus Bowl after he tested positive for steroid use.”

  1. KAM: There are no more safe places in Gavin Newsom‘s lawless California. Felons hop the wall and use a crowbar to smash through the front door of this multi million dollar Hollywood Hills home.

DON: But little did these felons know the homeowner had returned from vacation, is a gun owner, and isn’t afraid to exercise those rights.

      1. …and — with California mail-in laws being what they are — Kamala can win the day on the late ballots [just like Bass did]…..

      2. California’s stringent regulations and policies related to emissions, fuel storage, and the transition to electric vehicles, making it increasingly difficult and costly for refineries to operate in the state. Phillips 66’s refinery in Wilmington will close by the end of 2025. Valero’s refinery in Benicia, California, will close by April 2026.

We should see $8-10 per gallon, by this time next year. Thanks, Demoncrats!

      2. Maybe high school players thinking about playing for USC will find this effort disconcerting….

  2. Bregal was very good OL prayer.

He deserves a spot CFB HOF.

Carrier was a beast who was a great DB. He too deserves a spot.

Not sure about Mays. He was hard hitter but I don’t recall him being special. Hiwever, comparing him to today’s players, he would be a welcome addition.
