USC Morning Buzz: The Anti-Riley

  • Desmond Claude finally made a decision! Claude signed with Washington, which means the Huskies took USC’s top two players from last season (Claude, Wesley Yates).

Washington also has former USC assistant Tony Bland (from the Thanks Enfield Era) and Quincy Pondexter, who Eric Musselman didn’t want after last season.

Where are the people who thought Claude might return to USC after he entered the portal? That was never going to happen.

  • Let’s compare USC and Georgia baseball, which just took Trojans’ ace pitcher Caden Aoki. Georgia has the No. 1 transfer portal class with six committed players and all of them are ranked within the top 250. I’d like to see the NIL budgets for the two baseball programs.

        I thought Gabby said a few days back that he was going to the USC marching band pep rally today at the Palms at 2:00 and wanted to “meet up” with Scott. Instead, he spent the day trolling the blog. Once again a threat followed by a no show. That’s our Cowardly Gabby. All talk, no walk.

  4. Riley need to be more mature. He’s in lLos Angeles where coaches need to have a personality. Players pick up on comments or in Riley’s case lack of comments. I hope the next coach will be similar to Pete Carroll.

Well, maybe Tom Homan can talk with Riley. “Either extend the ND series, or I will deport your chauffeur, your security guards, your gardener, your butler, your chef, your handyman, your maid, your nanny, and anyone else who speaks with broken English on your property.” Sadly, given the size of Riley’s 17 million dollar estate, and his tendency toward personal assistants, this may work.
