Alijah Arenas Suffers Significant Knee Injury

USC prized freshman Alijah Arenas tore the meniscus in his knee and is expected to be sidelined 6-8 months, according to Chris Haynes.

That means he will probably miss the season. Would he redshirt or just go straight to the NBA Draft?

  1. WoW…..Tough couple of months for Alijah. Best Wishes for a Speedy Recovery…

Speaking of Recovery…..Does anyone know the current status of JuJu’s Recovery Schedule…?!?

  2. And the hits keep coming for USC basketball. Anyone know of some intramural players who can dribble and shoot that might want to walk on. It is that bad. And baseball may be worse.

Hopefully, we don’t have to pay for his NIL if he can’t play.

    1. KAM: USC Men’s Basketball is cursed. Thus is worse than The Curse of the Bambino and The Billy Goat Curse combined!

DON: True, despite abundant local talent USC hasn’t won any sort of national championship ever in men’s hoops since basketball was invented 134 years ago.

      0-134 is brutal!

  3. 6-8 months?? Meniscus tear is usually 6-8 weeks, not months? Hopefully it’s a typo or this is a real serious one.

      1. Is it not a pad in the knee joint? Is it not considered a relatively minor injury? Why do you always whine and cry. You are such a Debbie Downer Cowardly Gabby. Go sniff some more glue and then watch one of your animal videos. Be positive – the Aids medication is working and its covered by Medi-Cal/Medicaid.

      2. What did I make up Cowardly Gabby? Be specific. Meniscus isn’t a pad. Difficult to heal? You are not on Aids drugs? Haven’t sniffed glue in several months?

      3. recovery from a meniscus tear is based on the severity of the tear….if surgery is required it can take 4 to 6 months or longer for the repair to heal….Which would put a player possibly out for the season……

        now go f u c k yourself

      6. Cowardly Gabby: You are not a doctor. 6 to 8 months recovery for a meniscus tear to a healthy 18 year old athlete, I don’t think so. He will be practicing with the team in 6 to 8 weeks or less. It is just a pad. Does not affect knee stability with cutting. Try to be more positive.

      9. KAM: Cowardly Sparrow Gabby had another bad week, finding out Hillary is as looney as she is.

DON: And more bad news for Fruitcake Cowardly Gabby: We just completed a massive Deal with Japan, perhaps the largest Deal ever made. Japan will invest, at my direction, $550 Billion Dollars into the United States, which will receive 90% of the Profits.

This Deal will create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs — There has never been anything like it.

Perhaps most importantly, Japan will open their Country to Trade including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products, and other things.

Japan will pay Reciprocal Tariffs to the United States of 15%.

This is a very exciting time for the United States of America, and especially for the fact that we will continue to always have a great relationship with the Country of Japan.

  4. I’ve had the surgery three times. It’s like taking a melon ball scooper and scooping out the tear. I was back doing CrossFit in 8 weeks and I was in my 50s. A USC football player had it a few years ago and was back in 6 weeks. Maybe Arenas had some major trauma?

Plow, MG, good to see some familiar names and Gabby impersonating the rest 😉

      1. KAM: So fun seeing Plow Horse administer another beating to Cowardly Sparrow Gabby.

DON: Cowardly Sparrow Gabby and Hillary both need to be institutionalized at Atascadero State Mental Hospital for the rest of their miserable lives. They could be bunk mates!

    1. Haynes doesn’t say meniscus tear, just that Arenas will need knee surgery. If he tore his ACL or MCL that will put him out for the season. Hope the injury is relatively minor and heals. USC basketball can use some good news. Good to hear from you again onewayusc. Cross-fit in your fifties is impressive. That is a tough workout.

  7. KAM: Continuing our cavalcade of famous old comics, but Johnny Carson had one line I love, whereby back in the day there was an oil shortage and the 65 speed limit was reduced to 55 for a time, and later the government announced it was returning to 65.

Carson quipped: “When they heard that the speed limit would now be 65, California drivers thought they were tacking it on

  8. DON: If SC basketball was the only team in America, they would still find a way to lose it.

KAM: Memories being what they are, it is the losses I recall more vividly, like the 1971 SC-ucla game lost dramatically by the Trojans in the last minutes, or the 1990s Harold Miner’s team losing in the Tournament on a Hail-Mary 3-pointer at the buzzer

  9. DON: But even with Arenas, SC basketball wasn’t going far this year anyway. You got to have 2 or 3 “Arenas-types” on your team to have a shot at a championship

  10. –One problem for SC is ucla; does a kid want to play at ucla in front of a tradition-based basketball crowd with organized student cheering, or at SC in front of maybe 4000 ‘halfway-into-it’ fans
