Did You Really Expect The NCAA To Hammer Michigan?

Some USC fans are unhappy with the NCAA sanctions on Michigan (or lack thereof) in comparison to the penalties the Trojans received in 2010.

But here’s my question: Who has the NCAA punished since USC?

Does anyone seriously expect the NCAA to hit another program like USC? It’s 15 years later and it hasn’t happened. And the NCAA is considerably weaker today than it was 15 years ago. So I don’t know why fans are surprised.

  • Don’t expect to see much on USC’s scrimmage this morning. Here’s what USC said to the media attending: “No reporting on the scrimmage is permitted during or after the practice— this event is strictly for observation.”

  1. Re the Michigan Slap on the Wrist:

“In it’s own way, a meaningless probation and a fine [which will be imposed but never paid] is every bit as painful as a loss of post season revenue and forfeiture of national titles and the loss of 30 scholarships….”

    1. KAM: Oh Pat, where art thou?

DON: After retiring as athletic director, Pat Capper Haden continued to oversee the renovation of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a year. Since then, he has largely remained out of the public eye, focusing on “personal matters” and stepping away from the spotlight that comes with being the star QB and AD for a high-profile athletic administration, being a prominent Los Angeles attorney and being a NBC network Notre Dame football announcer.

  2. What possibly caused the draconian sanctions imposed on SC in 2010 was Carrot’s Trojan success from 2002 to 2009 when he bullied Notre Dame and all comers. The NCAA motto might have been “Who do these Trojans think they are?”

    1. 100% right…the crooked MCAA with that Miami AD intent on destroying what USC had risen to only to find he was buying hookups etc. upon his demise. Even worse was the phony ‘the princess’ i.e. notre dame hack queen on that same committee with their engineered ncaa version of ‘Russia Collusion’.

never any real blowback foe PA St. after Paterno was allowed yo claim his phony record…nothing for TX A&M on their scandal 3 yrs back…now this look the other way for MI.

Many may hate the Raiders but all the more reason to mock both the NFL L.A. franchises.

  3. Just in, the best college players of the last 100-years:

Tim Tebow and Vince Young, quarterbacks

Ronnie Lott and Brad Budde of USC

    Dick Burkus, linebacker

All purpose players: Johnny Rodgers and Tim Brown

    1. Tim Tebow as the best QB? No Joe Montana, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Matt Leinart in that group?

And what is up with choosing Brian Bosworth at LB, who was off the charts on anabolic steroids while he was in college. Today, he is a real estate agent in LA, looks like he weighs well under 200 pounds. Slightly bigger than a normal-size fellow.

      1. Remember when that Jet GM Tannehill decided to hire Tebow as a backup when Sanchez was there? Like that’s not going to.create a chaotic mess?

Any wonder the NYJ are, save for SB III rhe worst run franchise in the NFL

  4. KAM: Trump and Putin Reach Tentative Peace Agreement – Trump Says Deal is “Ultimately Up to [Ukraine]” and “They’re Going to Have to Agree”.

Still, Ukraine and NATO are “going to have to agree,” Trump stated, noting that “there’s no deal until there’s a deal,” and “it’s ultimately up to them.”

This comes after a three-hour-long meeting between President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and their Russian counterparts.

” I would like to hope that the agreement we’ve reached together will help us bring closer that goal and will pave the path towards peace in Ukraine,” Putin told reporters following his meeting with President Trump at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.

“We expect that Kiev and European capitals will perceive that constructively and that they will not throw a wrench in the works”

DON: We spoke for approximately twelve minutes and did not take any questions.

Details of the agreement are still not known publicly.

  5. KAM: Yesterday the world saw Putin at his best, even getting in a little joke about how “At the International date line you can literally step from yesterday to today.”

DON: I liked how he talked about starting up a pragmatic business relationship between our countries, and his message to NATO being ‘I trust “they will perceive this (tentative Agreement) constructively”

Harkening back to his KGB days, what he is really saying is “My way or the highway”

KAM: And you were lucid (take that critics!) and warm to Putin, and he reciprocated. I can see why you two would like each other

  6. KAM: Good news!

DON: A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO. It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up. President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved. Thank you for your attention to this matter! — President Trump

  7. The monetary sanctions against Michigan for illegally spying on the competition is not pocket change, with upwards of $35-million at stake. It seems the Wolfies were offered a choice to pay a big fine or lose scholarships

    1. There is no way to monitor payment. The size of the fine is symbolic and ceremonial. Scholarship loss is real.

Zelenski is coming to ask for more $$$ —and guarantees that he will not have to stand for election [his popularity is hovering at around 30%]. He is not coming to Washington to advance American interests —but to feather his own nest. Vance doesn’t owe Zelenski —Zelenski owes the American taxpayer [Vance’s constituency]……
