USC Morning Buzz: The Price Is Right For Some Starters

How much difference do you think there is between the NIL that new starting center Killian O’Connor (a former walk-on) makes vs. J’Onre Reed, who was brought in after starting two seasons at Syracuse?

Some teams have a policy where a starter has to make more than their backup? That’s not happening here.

Remember too that long-time starting guard Emmauel Pregnon reportedly transferred to Oregon because he was unhappy that some other linemen made more than him.

  • USC didn’t exactly get too creative for their annual photo of athletes for all 23 sports, using the old North Gym in the P.E. Building. Was Tommy Trojan unavailable?

    1. KAM: Our recruiting is so bad a walk on OL beats out a transfer we paid money to come here!

      DON: I don’t remember a time in my life when USC’s OL was worse.

  2. I want to stick up for every gym in the P.E. Building….and the absolutely first rate P. E. teachers I was lucky enough to have in fencing and intramural football —especially Bill Harper who played football with us WITH HIS BROKEN JAW WIRED…..

      4. btw, the first woman I fenced was the former Homecoming Queen at my old high school, Saint Monica’s. I coulda scored on her every time I lunged but…out of respect for her very nice chest…I held my blade back about a inch every time I lunged. After about 4 or 5 of those polite non-contacts she smiled and pulled my foil into herself to make contact. Fun moment. Game on.

  3. Great recruiting. Recruit one guy with no eligibility left, another who can’t beat out a walk on center, but this is what happens when you hire an incompetent clown, and USC is expert in hiring incompetent clowns for football head coaches.

      Seriously, if Missouri State scores 14 or more we have serious problems.

    1. At some point Californians will be given a chance to vote on dividing the state into a coastal state and an inland state….. we know the coastal voters will reject the idea…and a good percentage of the inland voters will too…..

        DON: Dividing the state isn’t the solution. Reversing The Reconquista is the solution.
