Lincoln Riley Wants More Fan Support

This is rich. Really rich.

Lincoln Riley, the coach who does not want to interact with the USC students or fans, has put his name on a letter demanding more fan support for Saturday night’s game vs. Michigan State.

“More unity. More sacrifice. More effort. More energy. More togetherness.”

More sacrifice? From the guy who makes $11 million a year with a personal driver and won’t even go to a rally to meet the students? Or skips the annual football alumni club golf tournament.

Here’s the full letter, which also is signed by GM Chad Bowden.

This week, our football team returns to the Coliseum for our Big Ten home opener. The start to the season has been successful, but we know that our biggest battles lie ahead, and winning them will require more from all of us.

More unity. More sacrifice. More effort. More energy. More togetherness.

More – from every Trojan. Those on the field, and those in the stands.

As we continue to find more within ourselves as a team, we ask today that you join us.

To our students: you are the tip of the spear. You lead the charge, and we feed off of your energy. The earlier you arrive, the longer you stay, and the louder you scream, the greater our chances at victory.

On Saturday, we need you to bring the juice – for four quarters. We will do the same.

Season ticket holders: you are our backbone. You give us strength and power, and we need you now more than ever. Just as we preach to our team to start fast, we need you to arrive early and ready to overwhelm our opponents.

You make a difference.

Our team is strong, and Saturday night presents a tremendous opportunity.

It will be late. It will be dark. It will be a battle.

But if we work together, it will be unforgettable.

See you Saturday at the Coli.

  1. Put a better product on the field

Make the game day experience on and around campus more fan friendly

Lower the ticket, parking and concession costs so the cost for 2 people to attend the game, parking, have 2 beers and 2 hot dogs not cost $300+

      1. Budda,

I live in Pasadena and I go to Angel Stadium because it is affordable. U can park for free and a ticket for $15.00. U are at the top. U can get a dog for $4.50 and a Coors or Miller Lite for $4.50. U can take ur own food in. I go for the family values and prices

      2. Agree PT. I went to a Clipper game a few years back and it was $440 for 2 average tickets near the baseline, parking and 2 beers. What amazed me is the number of young people at the game. Most people were 24 to 35. Could you afford to spend that on entertainment at that age? My friend opined that it is because there is a huge black market in LA with people getting government benefits while living at home and earning money off the books performing legal and illegal services. Don’t know but it sort of makes sense. Even if you earn six figures you can’t afford to drop $440 on a basketball game.

      3. plow,

teams just gouge u on everything. I won’t go anymore. However, the Angels do still have prices for families. U can get a ticket for $15 or a family four pack for tickets, hot dog, and a drink for $44. I will support the Angejs because they have merchandise for a hat for $10. U can buy a 12 Oz beer for $4.50. Angels are not the best, but I support them because they care for their fans instead of trunk ti gouge the fan.

  2. Scooter,

Who wrote the letter? Did Jen Tacol Lita Cohen force Riley or did she have one of the football managers write it? Letter sucked by the way. There was no personal involvement from him on what it means to be at SC, what he has gotten out of it, and what he has put into it.

  3. This guy Riley is beyond selfish..

If he wants support he should earn it.

He isn’t part of the team or the student body,

He acts as some corner suite executive.

  4. No self respecting Trojan refers to it as the “Coli”. As out of touch as the rest of that letter.

Scott nailed this one! You get what you give, Lincoln!!

  5. KAM: If Wiley wants real fire and emotion from a football crowd, then he better go back to Oklahoma where they truly care about their football team

DON: L.A. people usually act as if they’re at the opera instead of at a football game. They’re too Hollywood cool instead of football hot

    1. KAM: Speaking of Hollywood Hollywood icon Robert Redford passed away. My favorite movies of his were Downhill Racer, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Jeremiah Johnson, The Sting and The Natural were great. As his looks faded be became a director but with less success.

DON: Sadly his Sundance Channel went from featuring interesting independent movies to the usual Hollywood garbage with commercial when it was bought out in 2008. He died a full mooner libtard. Robert Redford was an evil lib who served Greater Libtardia his whole life. He loathed me, describing my leadership as a “monarchy in disguise” and expressing concerns that another term for me would lead to a slide toward autocracy. He even endorsed Senile Joe who ruled as a despot.

      1. I guess the 70s guys don’t matter much got to you MG and so you attack back. You are extremely intolerant to points-of-view different from yours, as in you dropping a “good” friend recently when he started talking about matters in which you disagreed. Politics is the only area in which you get pointed with me

All I am intending to do with the Kam and Don puppets is to show there is a middle ground, that opposing points-of-view can be civilly expressed. The imaginary Kam and Don disagree in a friendly manner. So can you and your “brother” bloggers

But iI won’t hold my breath-

    1. No such thing as a political hybrid. You either support the party that wants to build a wall and enforce immigration law and become energy independent with a strong police force and military or you support the Democratic party. The differences in policy are too great to claim you are in the middle.

      1. A lot of people are in “the middle” today. But the middle was not the right place to be during the Revolutionary War. Or today.

      2. Funny how you are the one who claims I never have an opinion on anything political, and yet you join the chorus line of saying I am a Lib.

“Hybrid” refers to taking the best ideas from the Liberals and the best from the Conservatives; it doesn’t mean ‘not taking a stand’

        Like

      3. You just self identified as a political hybrid which is a cope out because it does not exist. And voters don’t choose “the best ideas from each party.” It is a Representative Democracy. You vote for the person who best represents your ideas. Does what you think ought to be done. You voted for Kamala, the former border czar, who intentionally let in over 10 million unvetted illegals and gave them full benefits. She also supported the defund the police movement and no cash bail. Those were the ideas you supported with your vote. Live with it. Trump closed the border, enforced immigration laws and flooded Washington D.C. with the National Guard in an attempt to stop violent crime. You opposed this policy through your vote. No middle ground.

  13. KAM: But going back to Wiley’s plea to have a more rowdy SC crowd at the games, he has to realize LA people aren’t built that way. LAers wait until you are good, then they jump on your bandwagon

DON: I recall one year a Notre Dame crowd willing an Irish team to victory over SC after trailing 20-3. As ND was clawing back into the game, the fans were imploring their team and cheering first downs as if they were touchdowns

KAM: Maybe there is a reason why some home teams win more often than others
