I didn’t even realize that today is the 20th anniversary of USC’s 34-31 victory over Notre Dame.
Of course I have to post this picture of the Bush Push, with yours truly in the Nottingham Forest jersey on the left. These final minutes were the most intense crowd atmosphere I ever experienced at a USC game. Being 10 yards from one of the biggest plays in USC-Notre Dame history didn’t hurt either.
But the crowd was unbelievable and don’t forget they had already stormed the field when it appeared the game ended, only to be told to go back to their seats for the fateful outcome. There was a wave of emotion that carried through the stadium on that final drive.
Later that season, I was in a similar area of the field for the end of another great game (USC-Texas) but the intensity level wasn’t quite the same. Those two games are probably the two I remember most of the past 30 years.
One side note: On at least two occassions in the USC-Notre Dame rivalry (1997, 2005), the visitors’ locker room suffered post-game damage from all the USC celebrating.
I was at that game. So emotionally exhausted that I couldn’t stand up for about 10 minutes after the victory. The Cal game (with Rodgers) was like that, too.

I was at that Cal game, and it seemed that SC was doomed with Rodgers having completed about 20 passes in a row, but then the Trojans finally started knocking down his passes at the very end

23 passes in a row, if you can believe it. I was emotionally spent by the end of that USC – Cal game in 2004, as well as the 2005 game at Notre Dame.

Here is another trogie doing trogie things I nominate this sodomizer with the butt-fumbling Sanchez for the USC Criminal Hall of Fame.
LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A USC graduate student has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting three women, and police are now searching for any additional possible victims.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Chinese national Sizhe Weng, was arrested Aug. 28, police said at a news conference Wednesday morning outside Los Angeles Police Department headquarters.

I was there too, but on the north side of the stadium behind the USC bench, and low near the goal line. Did not know the outcome of the TD play until seeing both south side upper deck sections of USC fans jump up and go absolutely wild, while the entire rest of the stadium was absolutely still. After watching the ND fans flood the field, when the timekeeper let the clock run down after the fumble out of bounds near the goal line the play before, it was emotional whiplash of the highest magnitude. Most memorable game I have ever been to…

KAM: Who would guess that play would be adopted by the Philadelphia Eagles?
DON: Now they run it ad nauseam.https://x.com/UDFootballShow/status/1967595166782701820lol

I wasn’r at the Bush Push’ game, but it still is memorable inasmuch as my modestly interested wife screamed when Leinart completed that 61 yard pass on 4th down and 7 yards to go

KAM: Sad that was the peak of USC football.
DON: ….and it slowly but steadily declined the last 2 decades.

Scoring first is usually in a team’s best interest towards winning the game. However, one year at Notre Dame I was behind the Trojan bench when they scored first and I overheard players saying, “We got this,” and “We can do this all day.” However, SC got demolished after that

Should have ended like the good days like in 71 with SC and ND brawling. They deserved for beating for growing the grass long.

Great, great moment.
Maybe the Blogger can post the few moments when SC got hosed at South Bend, usually by the refs. <cough> <cough> 1991.

Better yet! Let’s pray our guys play well enough that the refs CAN’T be the difference.

If Folt is spotted in South Bend, it’ll probably only be because she’s there to attend the “Hate America” riot.

I kept the recording of that game in my DirecTV queue for a long ass time.
I didn’t know how to extend recordings so I had to record the NASCAR event afterwards in case the game exceeded its time allotment . I watched that “NASCAR” recording about 25 times over the years. It picked up when it was 4th & 7. Such a great ending.
Also, got to see Charlie Weis and his front but while snot runs from his nose.
