Here’s Lincoln Riley today before USC departs for South Bend in the last currently scheduled game with Notre Dame.
“Hopefully we can find a way to get that done, where it makes sense for both sides and not just one,” Riley said.
Does it make sense to play the game in Mexico City instead of the Coliseum? He didn’t seem to have a problem with that.
- Notre Dame defensive tackle Gabe Rubio is for Notre Dame against USC because of an elbow injury.
- Which USC-Notre Dame button is your favorite?

Ill take I’rish I was a Trojan

We should cancel Riley before we cancel ND. What a pile of BS. The guy has no clue what that game means to us – win or lose – obviously preferably WIN! He is afraid of real competition of this nature.

SC general manager ‘Bow-Down’ was rooting for Notre Dame last season, and this season he is helping SC’s defensive coordinator Lynn

It stands to reason that a football guy like Wiley would have watched the SC-Notre Dame games as a kid, so apparently he has some idea of what the rivalry is all about

No, LR does not understand the rivalry. And this is ludicrous. It is not just a rivalry, it is at the core of all of college football. It is the greatest intersectional rivalry in the game. These two schools own more Heisman trophies than any other two schools in the country. These two schools have had more players go into the NFL than any other two schools in the country. If anyone knows the name Knute Rockne, and that means anything to the history of the game, then this rivalry must continue as long as there is a game. It is sacred. And to not appreciate its gravity diminishes the entire sport immeasurably. And further, to have an HC at one of these schools be so dismissive of that tradition, and the magnitude of its contribution to the game, is not just shameful. It is blasphemy.

Scooter,
What does, “Notre Dame defensive tackle Gabe Rubio is for Notre Dame against USC because of an elbow injury”, mean?
Dude, your St. Paul education is showing. Go Loyola.

With Scott Wolf, like with Ed. G, you have to tiptoe through their secret meanings. In his articulation Scott forgot the word “out,” and Ed. G forgets everything else

No relation to Scott, I assure you. Topic just hit a nerve. The last one, tbh…

I’ll always take “fight on.” A great motto for football and for life. Academics aren’t going well, want to quit, no, study harder, fight on. I’m tired and its only mile 10 of the marathon, you’ll get a second wind, fight on. Business is not doing well, it will turn around, fight on. Relationships are tough, they will get better, fight on. I am sick and weak, buck up, get better, fight on.

Yes, but I do laugh at people who think THIS is “Fight On”. ✌️
There is no “V” in Fight On. It’s a “V” for Victory!

So Cal: When I was a little kid I thought the V hand signal was for Traveler’s hoof. Fans would move the hand forward and then break the wrist downward and it looked like a hoof raising up and then hitting the ground to me. And it seemed to be in sync to the music of the band and Traveler’s movements as he ran along the track after a big score. didn’t understand V for victory at that time.

DON: It was at that 1972 SC-Notre Dame game where runner-up Heisman winner Anthony Davis ran a nearly 100-yard kickoff back for a touchdown to keep the Trojans in the game, and then ran a second 100-yard kickoff to seal the victory over a very ‘Fighting Irish’ squad
KAM: It is of course the 55-24 game in 1974 that everyone talks about, which unfortunately over-shadowed the latter and equally great Rose Bowl game with SC over Ohio St 18-17 for the National championship
