USC-Nebraska Live Blog

Looks like Lincoln Riley is going to luck out in Lincoln. Got to face a 1920’s offense with Nebraska completely inept.

There is no way USC should lose a game to a team with a backup QB who cannot throw the ball.

The halftime show was a tribute to Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon is coaching USC.

USC’s defense has allowed two 75-yard touchown drives tonight.

Tobias Raymond with two false starts and the second one forces USC to kick a field goal.

Do people still think USC has a physical defense or domimant defensive line?

Nebraska went 75 yards in 14 plays for the touchdown. 7-0.

OK, it’s time for football!

Will it be another dud Big Ten game, like most of their games on TV this season?

  1. Halfway through the first quarter, and this has the making of a Nebraska blowout. USC doesn’t even look ready to play. Hope to hell I am wrong about this, but thus far the team looks like it is sleepwalking.

      1. Watch Lincoln on the sidelines. For the first time the electric light bulb on the “is this my job anymore?’ is going off above his head….

  2. Maybe Minnesota was the real deal against Nebraska.

I think we are just not executing. Maiava is off. Hopefully he adjusts. The run game is there. Use it.

      1. …at least we’re playing football now [something we didn’t seem to want to do in beginning of first quarter]. We’re still in this…unless Riley cools them off during half time….

    1. KAM: Minnesota fans are demanding they fire their head coach after losing to horrid MICH ST.. They aren’t the real deal.

DON: Riley Coyote struggled against a mediocre team… again!

      1. Agree Gabby. Comment was tongue and cheek. Minnesota is a mediocre team and they beat up on a team we struggled with. Glad we won but we are not progressing. In fact, I think Gentry, Ramsey, and Anthony Lucas played better last year.

    1. The BIG question—can Riley finally make the right half time adjustments? — he didn’t against Illinois or Notre Dame.

    1. And… look at Maiava’s eyes —he’s lost — completely lost –[and there is zero excitement on our sideline compared to Nebraska]…

  3. Ok, got lucky on fumble recovery after Jaden’s pick. Big issue is whether Jaden can return to “home field Jaden” and not the “away game Jaden. ”

    1. We’re seeing the SAME low percentage gambles Lincoln is famous for in the second half of a tight game — he’s not a heavyweight coach — he’s a petulant kid….

    1. We can take this game with efficient football –no more handing them 3 points with lack of discipline after the whistle —I mean how foolish can you get?

  4. This is about the ugliest win I have ever seen. Lincoln is raising his arm like he has defeated a really good team.

Happy to see the W, but on the other hand, this team is going to lose again, and probably two more games.

  5. Nebraska didn’t have a quarterback and two of their offensive lineman were hurt and we still couldn’t seem to put the game away. Too many missed tackles. Maiava only had 9 completions. Couldn’t get the ball to Lemon for the second straight week. Really poor game plan by Riley and terrible execution by Maiava. But Maiava did show that he could run and we really needed it. And a win is a win.

What’s with the trash talking by #17. He almost gave away the game and even after the penalty he was mouthing off. That is a lack of team discipline and the coach is to blame.
