USC Morning Buzz: A Great Example Of How Things (Used To) Work

‘I can rest easy now that Prophet Brown has re-signed for next season.

  • USC and Brown have agreed to cancel their non-conference men’s basketball game scheduled for Sunday at the Galen Center following the shooting at Brown over the weekend. USC is expected to play a new opponent Sunday, which will be announced.
  • Here is how USC used to be: One of the greatest moments (maybe the greatest) in football history occurred in 1931 when the Trojans snapped Notre Dame’s 26-game winning streak. The Irish were two-time defending national champs.

So how did USC respond when the Trojans returned four days later from South Bend? It immediately reduced ticket prices for the next two home games.

Why? Because the public repeatedly asked for a reduction in ticket prices. Remember, this was during the Great Depression.

If people in the athletic dept. read this today, they will think it’s quaint or naive that USC responded to public demand.
