At Least Two Coaches Contacted For USC Defensive Coordinator Job

Arizona State defensive coordinator Brian Ward and former Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski have been contacted by USC for the vacant defensive coordinator position.

Ward was previously defensive coordinator at Washington State, Syracuse and Bowling Green. Kwiatkowski is believed to be the preferred choice of USC athletic director Jen Cohen, because they worked together at Washington.

The search is being run by general manager Chad Bowden. With USC contacting outside candidates, it is unlikely it will hire an internal candidate.

    1. why would Bryant Haines leave Indiana when he’s coaching with the best coach in college football? To then go to USC that is now seen as a downgrade? Make it make sense

  6. Comedy. Kwiatkoski wants his own staff. Henderson will leave for Georgia Tech and take all the D-line talent. This is going to be hilarious. Ed Orgeron is willing to work with Henderson as his D-line coach if he’s the DC. I need to buy some more popcorn because this movie is so freaking funny.

    1. to Be fair Kwiatkowski is a great defensive coordinator. Had some of the best defenses in the country at Texas. Injuries got him fired

      1. KAM: Drunk Sark said he fired Kwiatkowski because his defense gave up “explosive plays in the second half”. Texas has incredible depth ater the 5th, 1st 7th and 11th recruiting classes the last 4 years. While injuries posed challenges throughout the season, the return of key players helped stabilize the defense as the season progressed.
