Marcus Freeman Shows Leadership

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman spoke with clarity today about playing USC. Something his counterpart, Lincoln Riley, never does.

“It’s pretty black and white for me. You want my opinion? I want to play them every single year. When? I don’t care. I don’t care when we play them. Start of the season, middle of the season, end of the season — I don’t care. I want to play USC every year because it’s great for college football.”

Wow. A coach who wants to do something because it is great for college football. Lincoln Riley only cares about himself. That’s why one coach is a leader of men and the other one is a zero.

  2. This entire situation makes Riley and USC look weak. Riley is essentially admitting that he doesn’t want to play tough non conference opponents. And now Freeman has called him out on it. A really pathetic look for USC and I doubt that Riley even appreciates it. Maybe Riley can suggest a neutral site – Barstow.
