Former USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, currently at Wisconsin, has emerged as the expected hire for Central Florida’s defensive coordinator job according to Pete Thamel. That was a pretty quick rehabilitation. USC offensive tackle Mason Murphy has signed with Auburn. Former USC offensive lineman Courtland Ford, who has been at Kentucky, has committed to UCLA. Is USC stat-padding with JuJu Watkins by leaving her in … Continue reading USC Notes: Grinch In News For Christmas

I don’t want to judge too early but it’s not unfair to say USC has been fairly quiet regarding the transfer portal. Lane Kiffin has already gotten seven commitments from transfers. Mississippi ranks No. 2 according to 247, behind only LSU, who also has seven commitments. Minnesota, a Big Ten rival (apparently) has 10 commitments and ranks No. 6. What do Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock, Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Christian Roland-Wallace, Arizona State safety Xavion Alford, Alabama cornerback Domani Jackson and Nebraska cornerback Ceyair Wright have in common? They all got … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Leave USC And Thrive

Mike Garrett was at Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony, as usual. He has been a regular the past several years. But where was Reggie Bush? After making such a big deal about getting his Heisman back, he didn’t even go to the ceremony? His boy Johnny Manziel was there, who said he would not attend another ceremony until Bush got his Heisman back. Maybe the … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Notable Absence At Heisman Ceremony
