USC coach Lincoln Riley said today that defensive end Anthony Lucas underwent a medical procedure and will miss the rest of the season. Lucas had been dealing with a lower leg injury and seemed to hurt his ankle again in the Penn State game. Braylan Shelby has been playing behind Lucas. Linebacker Eric Gentry announced tonight that he is redshirting because of a series of … Continue reading Anthony Lucas/Eric Gentry Out For Season

This is what happens when you sell your soul for money. Can you imagine Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State or Michigan letting this happen? This is incredible. USC has a thing where you can pay to run out with the team. It costs $1,450-$1,800 depending on the game. And there are no rules so this Penn State fan did it Saturday in PSU gear. pic.twitter.com/UJC6POSxXn — … Continue reading USC Is A Blue Blood; Do Blue Bloods Do This?

I’m not a big stats guy but here’s a couple things for the annoying segment of people who seem to do nothing but defend Lincoln Riley (and D’Anton Lynn). USC defense yards per play: 5.8 yards. UCLA defense yards per play: 5.3 yards. Both teams played Penn State, LSU and Minnesota. UCLA also played Oregon and Indiana, who are undefeated. USC played Michigan and Wisconsin. … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Is This Worth $12-13 Million?

Oh really? What did we really learn from Wisconsin? That USC could beat a team it was much better than at the Coliseum? I think we learned more from the … Continue reading USC Notes: What Have We Learned After Six Games?

A reader who went to the game Saturday complained that a staff member of the football program (not a coach, analyst, etc.) was coming on to the field during timeouts and yelling at the officials. I’m surprised that Lincoln Riley (and whoever monitors the sideline) allows something like this. It’s pretty bush league. This is not a defense of the officiating, which has been poor … Continue reading Something Else For Lincoln Riley To Clean Up

QUARTERBACK I thought this was Miller Moss’s worst game of the season. His touch was off on some key passes, most notably the third-down pass to Duce Robinson that was intercepted. The game plan minimized his role but he couldn’t come through in the clutch. Grade: D+ RUNNING BACK If you told me Woody Marks and Quinten Joyner would rush for 193 yards, I’d have … Continue reading USC-Penn State Report Card
