USC plays UCLA in the Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament tonight at 7:30 in Las Vegas. Good luck watching it as it will be on the Pac-12 Network. Andy Enfield surpassed Bob Boyd on Thursday night for the No. 3 spot at USC in all-time victories. Enfield is 217-145. Boyd was 216-131. Here’s my problem on that: Boyd didn’t flood his non-conference schedule with tomato cans … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
Fox Sports plans to unveil a new package of “elite” Friday night college football games this season. The games will be from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences and expected to feature some prominent games. REACTION: The details have not been revealed but that’s where problems occur. LSU has commitments from a five-star quarterback, tailback and wide receiver from the Class of 2025. Frankly, that’s the type of recruiting class I anticipated USC might have when Lincoln Riley got hired in 2021. USC does have one commitment from the Class of 2025 — five-star QB Julian Lewis — if he doesn’t flip to Georgia. They might better off sending that email to Penn State and Wisconsin fans. From the email: We are five months away from the Trojans officially joining the Big Ten conference! … Continue reading USC Promoting Big Ten Games
Did Steve Sarkisian underachieve last season? I realize that is in many ways always a rhetorical question with Sarkisian. But Texas had a school-record 11 players at the NFL combine and wide receiver Xavier Worthy ran a 4.21 40-yard dash. And they lost to Washington. He got a contract extension so Texas must be happy. But maybe last season was a huge missed opportunity, especially … Continue reading Did Steve Sarkisian Underachieve?
Sometimes, it helps to get a different perspective. Even the smallest things that we always take for granted are noticed by a first-timer. I stumbled across this video of an English soccer fan attending his first college football game, and it just happened to be the USC-Washington slug out at the Coliseum last season. When he sees a “Fight On” sign on the USC campus, … Continue reading Morning Buzz: A Fresh Perspective On USC
