The Alamo Bowl is shaping up to be a real dud. Can we say we don’t want to watch or is that too negative? Have you noticed that Husan Longstreet has not re-signed yet? If D’Anton Lynn goes to Penn State, the easiest move would be for Lincoln Riley to promote Rob Ryan to defensive coordinator. I mention it because Riley has no contacts, although … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
Oregon is a possible destination for USC defensive tackle Devan Thompkins. Maybe he saw how Bear Alexander got better. Some have derided the small crowd at the Galen Center last night. Officially, it was 3,030. This is finals week at USC and the game started at 6 p.m. But the bigger issue is if the crowds are a problem, play a better schedule. Four of USC’s top five leaders in receptions this season are either turning pro or entering the transfer portal (Lemon, Ja’Kobi Lane, Lake McRee, Walker Lyons). Meanwhile, USC announced Rodney Rice will require shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the season. He was averaging 20.8 points … Continue reading Two High-Profile Departures For USC
USC has lost 15 players to the transfer portal but other than depth purposes, the Trojans can afford to lose most of them. However, there is no way USC wanted to lose defensive tackle Devan Thompkins. His numbers improved each of the past three seasons and he put up the best numbers of any defensive tackle. You can say he and other players simply leave … Continue reading USC Notes: A Rare Loss That Hurts
