Turns out USC’s 78-64 loss to UConn in the Elite Eight was the Huskies’ only game decided by less than 23 points in the NCAA Tournament. How’s that for a silver lining? I don’t know what Bryce Harper has to do with USC other than this tired “LA is the place to be” campaign that USC is stuffing down everyone’s throats. Ask Wesley Yates, A’Marion … Continue reading Sunday Buzz: USC The Place To Be!
USC has added three basketball transfers today: Cal State Northrige forward Keonte Jones; Robert Morris forward Amarion Dickerson and Virginia forward Jacob Cofie. Jones and Dickerson averaged 13 points per game. Cofie averaged seven points. Sounds like they will nicely complement the existing players. But shouldn’t USC be trying to get a game-changing transfer? Especially after landing five-star guard Alijah Arenas? And especially after losing … Continue reading Three New Players For Basketball But What Does It Mean?
Not really a surprise as UConn defeated USC, 78-64, behind 31 points by Paige Buckers. But USC got just 10 points from Kiki Iriafen, who missed 11 straight shots. No way the Trojans had a chance with Iriafen struggling. Rayah Marshall showed up with 23 points and 15 rebounds. USC trailed 51-46 after three quarters but never got any closer in the fourth quarter. UConn … Continue reading UConn Beats USC In Elite Eight

I don’t think I agree with ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo in the clip below that assumes Watkins will redshirt next season. I think it’s too soon to know. She mentions that Paige Bueckers of UConn took a year off. But people respond differently and recovery times are not always the same. … Continue reading When Will JuJu Watkins Return?
JuJu Watkins tore her ACL in the first quarter of last night’s USC game at the Galen Center, a devastating blow for the Trojans, who advanced to the Sweet 16 with a victory over Mississippi State. USC will now play Kansas State on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Spokane without its star player and if the Trojans win, likely play UConn. You can watch the … Continue reading JuJu Watkins Suffers Season-Ending Injury
On several occasions this season, Lindsay Gottlieb has been questioned/criticized for leaving JuJu Watkins in games where USC was blowing out the opponent. But this might have been the worst moment, when Watkins was in the game Saturday with a sore ankle despite USC winning by more than 40 points. USC superstar Juju Watkins went back in up 40 points after rolling her ankle. She … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Another Strange Game Decision
