USC Guard Desmond Claude Enters Transfer Portal

Just four hours before the transfer portal closed, USC guard Desmond Claude has entered it. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds for the Trojans. So now USC’s top two scorers — Claude and Wesley Yates — have left after one season. Were they Trojans? It’s really a joke how players come and go in college sports. There’s little bond anymore. No reason … Continue reading USC Guard Desmond Claude Enters Transfer Portal

USC Adds Mid-Major Transfer

Eric Musselman is putting together a nice little team with mid-major transfers. The latest is Jaden Brownell, a 6-9 junior forward from Samford. He averaged 14 points and shot 40 percent on 3-pointers. Those are nice stats. Hopefully, he can do it in the Big Ten and not just the Southern Conference. Where is the replacement for Wesley Yates? Maybe it will be Maryland guard Rodney … Continue reading USC Adds Mid-Major Transfer

Wesley Yates Back To Washington

Yates started 24 of 33 games for USC and averaged 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Former USC assistant coach Tony Bland is an assistant at Washington. USC is making a strong … Continue reading Wesley Yates Back To Washington

Well, assistant coach Quincy Pondexter is not returning next season. Musselman has wanted an assistant with L.A. ties but struck out with candidates like Eugene “Pooh” Jeter, who is currently assistant general manager of the Portland G League team. … Continue reading The Basketball Coaching Carousel Continues

Three New Players For Basketball But What Does It Mean?

USC has added three basketball transfers today: Cal State Northrige forward Keonte Jones; Robert Morris forward Amarion Dickerson and Virginia forward Jacob Cofie. Jones and Dickerson averaged 13 points per game. Cofie averaged seven points. Sounds like they will nicely complement the existing players. But shouldn’t USC be trying to get a game-changing transfer? Especially after landing five-star guard Alijah Arenas? And especially after losing … Continue reading Three New Players For Basketball But What Does It Mean?
