Notes: Top Prospect Has USC In Top Five

Remember yesterday, I said USC professor David Belasco was now also teaching Pete Carroll’s class. Well, it looks like Belasco is in this video of Carroll’s first Las Vegas Raiders press conference. It’s amazing how some people just seem to be around him like an entourage. Pete Carroll's opening press conference as @Raiders HC had a very special guest 😅 pic.twitter.com/Of7TDOc9Ds — NFL UK & … Continue reading Notes: Top Prospect Has USC In Top Five

USC Morning Buzz: Amateurish Display At Galen Center

I didn’t really expect to write much about Monday night’s USC-UCLA game at the Galen Center but something bothered me. Kobe Johnson, who spent three seasons at USC, was playing for UCLA. Not really a big deal. It happened in football with several USC players like Kyle Ford, Kamari Ramsey and John Humphrey, who were at UCLA the previous season. I didn’t really notice Johnson, … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Amateurish Display At Galen Center

USC Basketball Great Gus Williams Dies

Gus Williams, one of the greatest players in USC basketball history, died Wednesday. He was 71. Williams is probably my favorite player in USC basketball history, an electric scorer and passer who had athleticism that stood out among the Trojan teams he played on in the 1970’s. He came to USC from Mt. Vernon High School, where he averaged 24.2 points, 8 steals and shot … Continue reading USC Basketball Great Gus Williams Dies

USC Morning Buzz: Muss Bus Rolls Past Opposing Coaches

The Muss Bus seems to be rolling right past opposing coaches in the handshake line at basketball games. USC coach Eric Musselman did not shake Michigan coach Dusty May’s hand after losing Sunday at the Galen Center or Indiana coach Mike Woodson after losing last night. Both times, it appeared Musselman was upset with the referees, which caused him to ignore shaking hands. “I got … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Muss Bus Rolls Past Opposing Coaches

Eric Musselman’s Soft Schedule Announced

Eric Musselman’s first non-conferencce schedule is out and it looks a lot like something Andy Enfield would come up with. USC plays a lot of cupcakes including powehouses Idaho State, Texas-Arlington, San Jose State, Grambling, Montana State, Cal State Northridge and Southern. The best games are St. Mary’s, Cal and either Arizona State or New Mexico. Ho-hum. Let’s hope Musselman beefs the schedule up once … Continue reading Eric Musselman’s Soft Schedule Announced

Shocker: Lakers Select Bronny James

With the 55th pick in the NBA Draft, the Lakers select Bronny James. Ah wonderful, ah wonderful, ah wonderful. I don’t really blame the Lakers. They want to keep LeBron James happy. How much time will he actually be on the Lakers roster or will he spend more time on the G League team? The hilarious part was Bronny’s agent telling NBA teams not to … Continue reading Shocker: Lakers Select Bronny James
