USC Morning Buzz: These Numbers Are No Game

Everyone likes to focus on the fact that for years USC has not have a linebacker worthy of wearing No. 55. But what about the fact no one inside the program even cares about the other number traditions. No one wears No. 42, which was Ronnie Lott’s number or No. 43 (Troy Polamalu). There isn’t anyone to even remind anyone of their significance. Those numbers … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: These Numbers Are No Game

USC Sunday Buzz: Riley Plays It Both Ways

Is it weird that Lincoln Riley allowed reporters to watch Saturday’s scrimmage but did not allow them to report on it? From USC: “No reporting on the scrimmage is permitted during or after the practice— this event is strictly for observation. Should a media member fail to adhere to these rules and regulations, they will be asked to leave the event.” This allows Riley to claim he … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Riley Plays It Both Ways

You know, taking visits is kind of a part … Continue reading USC Saturday Buzz: A Busy Night For Recruits

If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

USC ended up with 15 Olympic medals, which was the most of any Big Ten school But . . . if USC was still in the Pac-12, it would have been dwarfed by Stanford, which won 39 medals. Four years ago, Stanford won 26 medals and USC 21. I like to harp on swimming. Cardinal alumni Torri Huske and Regan Smith won five medals while … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

USC Notes: It’s Quarterback News Thursday

USC QB coach Luke Huard on when a starting quarterback will be named. “That’s a decision completely up to the head coach,” Huard said. Of course Huard is never going to give away anything. He’s grateful to have a job at USC. But at least we know the QB derby is still a derby. The truth is Jayden Maiava will have to be better than … Continue reading USC Notes: It’s Quarterback News Thursday
